During the second presidential debate of 2012, President Barack Obama said, “What I’m trying to do is get a broader conversation about how we reduce the violence generally. Part of it, is seeing if we can get an assault weapons ban reintroduced.”
You can bet he meant what he said. Obama has a long history of holding anti-Second Amendment views, despite portraying himself as pro-hunter and reasonable about gun control. A second term spells trouble for law-abiding citizens wanting to exercise their right to keep and bear arms: Obama is strongly opposed to concealed carry, has supported gun owner licensing and gun registration and voted to ban semi-automatic rifles, handguns and ammunition during his time in the Illinois State Senate. He even voted for the criminal prosecution of those who use a firearm in self-defense.
“I don’t believe that people should be able to own guns,” Obama told author and economist John Lott, according to an interview Lott did on the Michael Medved Show in 2008.
The effects of a second Obama term will reach far beyond the next four years and will have grave consequences for gun owners. If re-elected, Obama will have as many as three opportunities to place more anti-Second Amendment judges on the Supreme Court… for life. During his first term, he appointed Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, both of whom, as you might expect, have staunch anti-Second Amendment records.
First Lady Michelle Obama understands the power her husband holds should he receive another four years.

Time to question why Adam Lanza (or someone else) destroyed his computer hard drive.. It wasn't like he was worried what people might think about him. He blew that the moment he shot his own mother in the face multiple times. Someone or some entity (domestic OR foreign) is being protected with destruction of that hard drive. ADAM LANZA'S HARD DRIVE IS THE SMOKING GUN, not the ones used in the massacre.

It will become a “filibuster proof Senate” NEXT year. Reid has already stated that he intends to limit the filibuster (and this was before Sandy Hook). Expect the number of votes required for cloture to be changed from 60 to 51...

Pardon my venting but after responding to your post I just got real angry.
I had other guns I wanted to buy before getting into AR’s and this gun grabbing crap is infuriating.
I tried to explain to a friend my M1A’s, my opinion, are much deadlier than the AK or AR and I can put bigger holes in stuff from further away....if I was some sick twisted FK. A 195 grain .308 leaves a bigger mark than than 223/556.
So then I hear that no one should have semi auto. You should only be able to shoot one bullet at a time because the only reason for semi is to kill people.
My response was “Uhmmmmm, sure. Yuh know, not to insult your stoopit statement, but you haven’t thought your plan through.
Why not say we can only shoot muskets. you know, because then you can only get off two rounds a minute.

The Palmetto State stuff is good. I understand your frustration with this whole gun grab. True...the bigger the bullet, the bigger the hole. The lethality of modern weapons has to be higher because the lethality of what a tyrannical government can throw at us is greater. That musket-assault weapon dichotomy does not wash. The 2nd Amendment is to stop the tyranny of government. Hang tough, patriot!!
