If you thought the tale of how Mitt Romney lost the general election was already told, you would be wrong. Because there is so much left to tell, like how Mitt never wanted to be President anyway.

There is something weird about elections sometimes. You really do get the impression that Al Gore was just as happy to lose as to win in 2000. Same with Romney this year. I don’t know what powers behind the throne makes certain people run for an office they’d just well not have but it really does give me the impression that anything resembling an actual democracy ended a long time ago and all we have left is the form rather than the substance.

Some foolish people will believe anything negative about Mitt, regardless of the source or how outlandish the story is.

Wondering why, if he didn’t really want to be President he campaigned against, and defeated several that did?

This IS stupid. I call BS on this one.

exactly.. this idea is pure rubbish.. the guy ran for president for years, years and years... he wanted it very badly.

he was beaten by the 47 % (takers and non-doers) and low information voters which is a good 30 % of the population...

I don’t see how we will ever win again, to be honest. A true conservative running against Santa Claus?

A real conservative needs to run, some say..

Bullsh*t... not gonna happen, not no way, not no how.

This country will become progressivly more progressive. The tipping point has already been reached and that was this election.

I’ve said it a million times, I’ll still vote and actively work for our guy.

but I have no hope. Zero, zilch, nada.

Maybe he didn’t want it ...

Ya ever watch a dog guard a dog bowl full of food ? he has no intention of eating it but he will be damned if any other dog is gonna eat it either ....

Besides we didn’t lose this election because if Mitt it was lost because of the Fifth column in this country Freedom of the press has turned into tyranny of the masses by virtue of the printed word

Fear by suppression and abject poverty as long as the food stamps and checks for free money keep coming everything is fine for a time but as soon as that stops or is slowed panic will ensue just give it time ..

Indeed buying votes is most fruitful when your stomach and the stomachs of your children are growling and many of your family members are living in one house trying to keep warm ..

“He wanted to be president less than anyone I’ve met in my life. He had no desire to . . . run,” said Tagg, who worked with his mother, Ann, to persuade his father to seek the presidency. “If he could have found someone else to take his place . . . he would have been ecstatic to step aside.

He wanted to be president less than anyone Tagg has met in his life? Hard to believe. Some exaggeration maybe?

I suspect Mitt Romney had moments where he didn't want the White House as much as his wife and son wanted it for him -- and he never wanted it as much as Obama does -- but saying that he never really wanted it may be going too far.

Maybe it's the rich guy problem of having so much and being able to get so much with ease that you don't have real hunger for anything: you never really want it as much as the people who don't have anything else to aim for.

He wanted it but never wanted it enough. Romney and McCain wasted everyone’s time. It’s like the people who say they want to lose weight, but a year later they haven’t lost anything.

Why anyone beside those that have the msm in their back pocket, would want to be president is beyond me anyway. Just let someone step up and the attack dogs are ready to rip them to shreads, including one’s own party...

That last debate was a dead giveaway that he didn't want the job. All that "I agree with the president" crapola, I still get nauseous thinking about it.

If he didn't want the job, why the scorched earth primary? I wasn't thrilled with the prospect of Newt, but if he had the fire in the belly for the job, step aside Mittens and let him get the nomination.

Romney wanted Newt to lose more than Romney wanted to be president.

If he didn't want the job, why the scorched earth primary?

Because the real war has been against American conservatives for decades?
