The decorations are hung, the tree is glowing, the presents are wrapped, the food is being prepared and the anticipation is building. Yet all these things are merely worldly blessings and temporary joys, Father, compared to the Gift Himself. For through the Gift of this Precious Christ Child, Whom we celebrate, the entire course of human history was changed. Love came down to earth to bless us. Love came down to earth to save us from our sins. Love came down to earth to cause our lives to have meaning for eternity. Father, we thank You for Jesus, our Precious Savior, Lord Emmanuel, God with us.
Cause our hearts to be full of the Gift. Cause our minds to yield unto Him. Cause our lives to reflect His purposes and His nature. Help us, Lord God, to grow in grace and in knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Make us aware of the needs of others and in so doing, may we take our eyes off ourselves and receive the blessings that come from giving. We pray, Lord, for You to supply every need of our military men and women during this season of joy. To those who are lonely, may You be their comfort. To those who are distressed, may You be their peace. To those who are discouraged, may You be their strength.
Lord, we pray for the needs of every prayer warrior who gathers here to pray today. May the joy of the Lord be upon them, and may the peace of God that passes all understanding, dwell in their hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Precious Lord, we love You and need You. All glory, honor, power and praise be unto You. Thank You for our Prince of Peace---Jesus, in Whose Mighty and Powerful Name we pray. Amen.
God Bless our Soldiers where ever they are today, and surround them with angels to keep them safe..our oldest has been in the military for 27 yrs..after the attack today in Kabul he sent 3 words”I am safe.”But since I hadn’t heard from him in 30 days I am relieved...May God Keep him safe..
Amen to your Prayer for Our American Heroes and our Beloved Nation.
Merry Christmas, Faith!
((((HUGS))))

Heavenly Father,
Like the first Christmas, Your Son came into this deeply troubled world infected with sin. And with Incarnation and the Good News came the rise of the forces of evil - as Herod ordered the slaying of the innocence to kill the Christ child.
This Christmas, many will mourn the loss of their children who were slain - but may they be comforted that they are in the arms of the Savior.
Protect those who put themselves in harm’s way to protect the innocent - whether in uniform, other service. May our service men and women reign in the forces of evil with the power of Your Spirit and Your Wisdom.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
Lord God,
Please continue to hide rxtn41’s precious son in the shadow of Your wings. Thank You for being his Shield, his Fortress, and his Sure Defense. Bring him home safely to his family at the appointed time and give them your blessed peace as they await that joyful reunion. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
Thank you for joining us in prayer today, ltos! May the peace of God be yours.
Thank you for your prayer, NEWwoman. Have a blessed Christmas.
Amen.
Merry Christmas, fieldmarshaldj!
Every year, I enjoy listening to the BBCs worldwide live radio broadcast of the Christmas Eve service from Kings College Chapel in Cambridge, England. This Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols combines Scripture readings, prayers, and choral music in a moving service of worship. One year, I was struck by the announcers description of the congregation leaving the magnificent chapel, saying they were stepping out of this moment of grace and back into the real world.
Wasnt it that way on the first Christmas? The shepherds heard an angel announce the birth of the Savior, Christ the Lord (Luke 2:11), followed by a multitude of the heavenly host praising God (vv.13-14). After they found Mary, Joseph, and the Baby in Bethlehem, the shepherds couldnt help telling others about this Child (v.17). The shepherds went back to work, glorifying and praising God for everything that they had heard and seen, which had happened just as they had been told (v.20 Phillips).
They had been changed by their moment of grace. As they stepped back into their real world, they carried the good news about Jesus in their hearts and voices.
May we too take Gods grace into the real world this Christmas and every day of the new year.
Read: Luke 2:13-20
