Politics 2012: It hasn´t been two months since Barack Obama won re-election, but already we´re finding out things that were kept from us during the campaign. Expect to hear more in the coming months. lElections are clarifying events, we´re told. But sometimes what they clarify is merely the gap between what we were told during the campaign and the reality on the ground. Often, the two don´t match. That´s certainly true with Obama. I'm not sorry to say I'm LMFAO at those who think they were "duped."

In Chicago, we call them low information voters (a term that Rush has only recently picked up on.) The term "low information voters" has been used to describe Chicago voters since the 1980's as best I can recall.

The term "low information voters" came out after the "council wars" between then Mayor Harold Washington and several Chicago aldermen led by Ed Burke and "Fast Eddie" Vrdolyak broke out. In hotly contested races, voters were interviewed on TV and asked "who are you going to vote for?"

The most common response was "whoever my alderman TELLS ME TO!"

I can't remember exactly which TV reporter coined the term, I think it was Chuck Goudie from WLS-TV, Channel 7 in Chicago but it was a long time ago and I'm a little fuzzy if it really was him however given his straight-talking kind of reporting I believe it was.
