2012: The Reason for the Season
The Holy Bible | As it is Written

Luke 2:1-21 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

Matthew 2:1-11

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,

And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

Sets up? No. Clever? He is not human, HE IS The Almighty, He is ‘I AM’, He is INDESCRIBABLE.

Oh, take your fake piety and show it off to your neighbors.

Even the scripture itself can and does describe the “indescribable” — enough to give it over a hundred names.

In the meantime, even if you do not wish to appreciate that here, in fact, is a Gift that was wrapped... I do.

I am not 'religious'. However, your knowledge shows you are with taking offense at The Truth as the Pharisees did. What I have is from GOD - not from myself. The pompous religious think otherwise; they think *THEY* can earn it by their works. And Jesus showed us what He thought of them.

Isaiah 29:13 The Lord says: "These people come near to Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. Their worship of Me is made up only of rules taught by men."

Matthew 15:7 "You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules."

Even the scripture itself can and does describe the “indescribable” — enough to give it over a hundred names.

And yet you call HIM cleverer than history. That's human speak.

GOD is not restricted by time. He was and is and always will be. The Alpha and The Omega. Do you know HIM? I doubt it with God sets up metaphors.concerning the wise men.

Yet, HE has made Himself knowable and Jesus came so we can be reconciled with The Father. God wanted man to be reconciled with Him, so He sent Jesus The Word and The Word was made flesh.

even if you do not wish to appreciate that here, in fact, is a Gift that was wrapped... I do.

I already have IT. I received THE GIFT - that shows my appreciate for IT. Seems yours is still wrapped.

"For it is by the grace of God you have been saved, through FAITH--and this is not from yourselves, it is THE GIFT OF GOD-not by works, so that no one can boast." Eph 2:8,9

JESUS came to bring THE GIFT of GOD 'For God so loved the world He sent.....(John 3:16) and THE GIFT is salvation.

Please explain where I erred at all? You were misusing the word indescribable to mean that it is impossible to say things about it that are true. The bible itself says thousands of things about it and has over a hundred names. God can even say more things through circumstance that we already recognize as literally true. How is it unholy, impious, untrue to describe Jesus as being all that the scriptures say PLUS being a gift that was wrapped. You sound very much like you maliciously lie as well as go ahead and use the thing you said was false, when you follow on and accuse me of not “unwrapping it.” I have been a born again Christian for 23 years. But I am not so uptight as to not note that other statements can be true about God that the bible, at least, does not deny. Now how about you, uptight one? Do you not see why I am calling you falsely pious?

The gift by the way is not just SALVATION. It is GOD HIMSELF. God gave HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON. Do you recognize a scripture how we are given life MORE ABUNDANTLY?

You are caviling over gnats that you are straining at. You had better be very careful before you accuse a fellow Christian of being unsaved, like you swallowed the camel and did me.

How is me saying He is the Almighty and He is indescribable deserve a response like this take your fake piety and show it off to your neighbors. Especially from someone who says they are saved?

I showed you the Scripture what is THE GIFT OF GOD. What do you have against that? And you said I am not appreciative of it? Where did you get that from? When I told you I received the gift - and that shows I am appreciative, I get more angst from you!!

Now how about you, uptight one? Do you not see why I am calling you falsely pious?

You call me uptight because I tell you that Jesus is indescribable when you said He's cleaverer?

I'd say you call me those names because you have a pride issue.

I'm off to enjoy my family/friends, you can stay and argue as this place is open 24/7.

I thought you would mock, duck and run. Quite a way for a SAVED CHRISTIAN LIKE YOU to take responsibility huh?

I said those things because you were using the bible quotations to claim things that they weren’t even intended to address. That’s a sign of TRUE piety?

I recommend that you apologize, but your pride will probably never let you do it.

Sincerely,
Neck.

Always loved the poem One Solitary Life by Dr. James Allan...Here is a man who was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in another village. He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty. Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.

He never owned a home. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family. He never went to college. He never put His foot inside a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place He was born. He never did one of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but Himself...

While still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. One of them denied Him. He was turned over to His enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed upon a cross between two thieves. While He was dying His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth – His coat. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Nineteen long centuries have come and gone, and today He is a centerpiece of the human race and leader of the column of progress.

I am far within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that were ever built; all the parliaments that ever sat and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as has that one solitary life.
