Lawmakers look to restrict gun magazine capacity

WASHINGTON—Lawmakers from both parties voiced their willingness Sunday to pursue some changes to the nation's gun laws, but adamant opposition from the National Rifle Association has made clear than any such effort will face significant obstacles. NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre dismissed efforts to revive a ban on assault weapons as a "phony piece of legislation" that's built on lies.

Democratic lawmakers in Congress have become more adamant about the need for stricter gun laws since the shooting of 20 children and six teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California is promising to push for a renewal of expired legislation that banned certain weapons and limited the number of bullets a gun magazine could hold to 10.

Kay Baily Hutchinson is the “republicans” siding with the liberals? She’s a lame (and I mean LAME) duck and won’t have the power to vote on the liberal’s anti-self defense law. She is a great one for the leftist ladies in the Senate to trot out.

After much thought and deliberation, I think it's time the NRA compromises with the gun control crowd. Allow all new magazines to come with Surgeon General warning labels similar to cigarettes.

“Warning: The Surgeon General has determined that the contents of this magazine is hazardous to the health of anyone that receives them at high velocity.”

I can live with that compromise.

Ex Post Facto laws are forbidden in the Constitution.

Yep. That's why we've never had a retroactive tax...

Self-defense From Fresh Fruit: `banana mags’
“First of all you force him to drop the banana; then, second, you eat the banana, thus disarming him.
You have now rendered him ‘elpless.”

Next session: `pineapple grenades’
A Happy Christmas to you and a Merry New Year.
Or vice versa.

This is in direct violation of the ADA. How are the disabled going to be able to change magazines or shoot without a handgrip or without semi auto?

Are they going to make guns only usable of people without disability?

3. Not allowed to authorize any pay increases for any govt employee, including themselves, ever.
4. Must pass legislation cutting their own pay by 75%
