Connecticut embraces gun "buy-back" farce
NECN (no link) | 12/29/12

Posted on 12/29/2012 6:46:11 AM PST by pabianice

Per New England Cable Network:

CT is joining the fight on gun violence with a gun "buy-back" program. Local police stations will offer $200 for a working handgun and $75 for a working rifle.

CT already has the 5th most strict gun-grabbing laws in the country. IMHO, the state's moronic embrace of the "gun buy-back" farce is just the latest example of their utter cluelessness about guns and their hatred of the most basic of civil rights, self-defense.

I doubt 5% of anything brought in will be in working condition.

Plunder and death = socialism and totalitarianism

Co$tly collectivi$tS. Pay with your life, your time of life (work) and the inability to defend it.

LAPD actually paid $400 of taxpayer money to buy back two spent disposable missile launching tubes, which could only be dangerous if a gangster wanted to bludgeon someone with them!

Thanks for posting (LOL!). Taxpayer money well-spent for a "bludgeon free zone". (When will they buy all our hammers?)

The LA mayor and chief of police are complete douche-bags.

I have a fully correct M-1 Paratrooper Carbine that I’d be willing to “sell back” to them for $5000.

Wonder what a black-and-white would do if they rolled up on you and you whipped one of these out? I’d like to see a video.

You would probably go to jail for manufacture of firearms without a license.

Pay attention to where the money comes from for these gun buybacks. I’ve seen Safeway mentioned a couple of times. In some cases, it may be your tax dollars.

Wish I had had one of those as a kid. Perfect for firing bottle rockets.

Hmmm... I wonder how many CRIMINALS will be turning in their guns during this 'GUN Buy Back' time??

Answer... ZERO...they will become BOLDER when they see 'NON-CRIMINALS' turn in their guns...

You'll see more KILLINGS of the masses soon...

To remove tyrants, yes. Also to push back foreign invasions, stifle illegitimate insurrection, etc. Oh, so many things.

I often think governments are stupider than me, and stuff like this seems to confirm it. But then I realize they know it’s worthless, too, except as a show for people stupider than us both.

In all cases, it's your dollars. When a store offers gift cards for buy backs, they're passing along that expense to their customers i.e. you and me. Among those sponsoring these buy backs are Safeway, Walmart, Ralph's, and Food Bazaar.

unbeleivable- they just went htrough one of hte worst massacres in history because NOONE was armed and able to protect the kids while some DOLT called police thinking that callign hte police would ‘solve everything’ and this kid went on a 20 minute rampage UNCHALLENGED and UNCONTESTED thanks to the assinine ‘gun free zone’ within the school- and now they are embracign further efforts to dissarm the public?

What the hell is wrong with htis nation? Have we gone retarded as a nation? (No offense to developmentally challenged folks- the word retarded has changed over the years aqnd is now applied to folks with brains that are fully developed but who for some unknown reason, can not seem to use their brains to make reasonable common sense descisions anymore)

Waiting for the police to arrive worked out well for you folks in Sandy Hook huh? I’m sorry for your loss, but I’m even sorrier for thsoe of you who beleive that unarmign LAW ABIDING CITIZENS is the answer to preventign more tragedies i nthe future- Here’sw a clue folks- The police CAN NOT PROTECT YOU when they are NOWHERE IN THE VACINITY and won’t be i nthe vacinity for 20 minutes or more- or even for 5 minutes, Hell, even for one minute- Your ONLY defense is what you have available to you at the time- and here’s another clue for you folks- Dialoguing with hte crazed criminals who have guns ILLEGALY never ever works- you can continue tryign if you like- but we’ve tried it your way for years now, and it’s VERY clear that your way sucks- it’;s a MISERABLE FAILURE!!! too many kids are beign murdered with NOONE to protect them thansk to your bleedign liberal hearts and your assinine feel good legislation

[[
Real Americans need to set up outside these buy-back stations. We can offer a whole lot more than $200 for most handguns, and $75 for most rifles]]

That’s a great idea, and most of the crackheads brining in their defunct weapons for crack money will choose the buyer with them ost money- most of htese peopel are NOT bringing in their guns because of soem ‘seeign hte light’ moment, they are bringign them in because they need crack money and want to get as much as they can for them- It woudl be hillarious to see the media tryign to spin the FACT that peopel are NOT bringign their guns in because of a change of heart, but because they are desperate for money and saw a legal opportunity (for once) to get soem money for drugs
