Woman Accused of Hate-Crime Murder in Subway Push
New York Times ^ | December 29, 2012 | MARC SANTORA

Posted on 12/29/2012 2:39:38 PM PST by ConservativeStatement

Mr. Brown said that the woman was motivated by hatred, telling the police, that she “pushed a Muslim off the train tracks because I hate Hindus and Muslims ever since 2001 when they put down the twin towers I’ve been beating them up.”

Ms. Menendez conflated the Muslim and Hindu faiths both in her comments to the police and in her target for attack, officials said.

The man was Hindu..... Her statement was she was angry about the 9 / 11 attacks on the towers....Blamed Muslims and Hindus....don’t understand why she hates Hindus....

Maybe they all look alike to Hispanic women.

I’ll call BS on her actually having said this as reported. As mentioned above, it fits the narrative far too conveniently. I would imagine the mayor and police decided what would be the most politically useful motive and simply coerced this nutcase into admitting to it.

I think white Hispanics can be charged with hate crimes ... I think it’s part of “Holder’s Law” as given by the Anointed One of Chicago on faux stone tablets.

Again, WHY the crime was committed is irrelevant. THAT the crime was committed is all that matters.

Muslim terrorists perpetrated the 9/11 attacks. This woman is incredibly ignorant. Did the MSM propaganda push the idea that Hindus and Muslims both were responsible for 9/11?

There are mostly two kinds of Americans. Ones that love Muslims and then ones that hate both Hindus and Muslims. So you and me......either ways we are screwed.

We Are All Hindus Now

Aug 14, 2009 8:00 PM EDT

Excerpt:

America is not a Christian nation. We are, it is true, a nation founded by Christians, and according to a 2008 survey, 76 percent of us continue to identify as Christian (still, that’s the lowest percentage in American history). Of course, we are not a Hindu—or Muslim, or Jewish, or Wiccan—nation, either. A million-plus Hindus live in the United States, a fraction of the billion who live on Earth. But recent poll data show that conceptually, at least, we are slowly becoming more like Hindus and less like traditional Christians in the ways we think about God, our selves, each other, and eternity.

In the entire US I think there was one case of someone being killed in retaliation for the 9/11 attacks--a Sikh man wearing a turban was killed in Arizona, I think it was, by some idiot who saw the turban and assumed it meant that the man was a Muslim.

Back in the 1980s there was a case of a Chinese-American man who was killed in Michigan by an unemployed auto worker who thought the man was Japanese and blamed the Japanese for the fact he did not have a job.

Wrong, plenty of Indians have been attacked, killed and beaten since 9/11.

And then there was the Wisconsin temple shoot out. Not even Muslims have been subject to that much brutality since 9/11.

I am not so much convinced it is “collateral damage” anymore. Attacks on Hindus and Sikhs are not so much a case of mistaken identity as we all like to believe. We are legitimate target. Even more so then Muslims.

And she did it! Just not to a Muslim but a Hindu.
Good job huh?

It’s relevant to me. I belong to the same faith as the victim. If there are loonies out there who would consider me to be a legitimate target because if my faith I would definitely like to know.

I don’t think she was “confusing” anything. She hated Hindus. She got the Hindu.

Even if one didn’t belong to the same faith as the victim one would be a target of violence by a total stranger, but yes, persons who don’t look like the majority in a given community, think like them or are a part of a different faith are at a much greater risk — especially in a country where even college graduates know little about the world outside their own well.

The fact that she did it is irrelevant to me. I don't have a dog in this fight.

I'm just astounded that even the lowest-grade of low-grade morons would even mention race/religion/ethnicity or the whole laundry list of lefty protected voters/groups that can get a hate crime charge launched at ya and double or triple your sentence. Talk about dumb.

Sounds like a stupid woman who could not properly identify another culture.
Thats where the SHTF is gonna make a big mark, these crazed entitlement recipients losing their hopey changy and taking it out on anything blindly, its a shame the person was Hindu, I think they are nice harmless people against the other faith like Islam.

I dont have a dog in this fight either. I am neither white nor Muslim. The race factor however does become relevant for me if someone is after my @ss because of race.

It seems to me the that, what is bothering you more is the fact that she blurted out her prejudice not the crime she actually committed. Seems to me you would have preferred if she had just quietly done what she did and not opened her mouth.

I am happy she came out with the truth. I much prefer an open honest racist then a slimy closeted coward who tries to play it smart.
