U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal and and Sen.-elect Chris Murphy attended the meeting Dec. 19 and advised the group to feed the fire while public sentiment is strong and raw.More hate speech from the worst kind of liberals.

Useful idiots recruited by the communists to trample their own Bill of Rights. We don’t deserve the freedom that we’ve had, until now, in this country.

who are these 'activists'?
Who is funding the 'organization"? What will they gain from it?
There are always vultures that show up after any disaster - and look to profit from it...

We can always count on Democrats to use any crisis (even their own children’s blood) to strip freedom from Americans and do the wrong thing.
These people don’t question why the children and teachers of Newtown were left as sitting ducks for a mad man to slaughter? The man had his guns illegally. Bad guys don’t care about laws.
Mexico is a gun free Nation. That is why 24,000 were slaughtered last year.
To: raybbr
I’m sorry for your loss, but you will never persuade me to give up my guns to protect my children to make you feel better.
You failed as parents to protect your children and relied on an uncaring, incompetent government to stop a slaughter. That’s a cross you will bear forever.

The group, organizers said, will use the traditional media, social media, outreach to churches, schools, government agencies and all other avenues to make "Newtown" a rallying cry against gun violence ownership. Edited for truthfulness.

"We are just a few concerned citizens with day jobs trying to ensure that what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary marks the high-water mark for gun violence in this nation," Newtown United spokesman Rob Cox wrote in an email. "Ultimately we hope to provide a platform for the voices of the families most affected by this horrific event." B.S.
Rob Cox helped establish Breakingviews in 2000 in London. From 2004 he spearheaded the firm's expansion in the United States and edited its American edition, including the daily Breakingviews columns in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. Rob has worked as a financial journalist in London, Milan, New York, Washington, Chicago and Tokyo. Rob is a contributor to Newsweek magazine and MSNBC. Rob graduated from Columbia Universitys Journalism School and the University of Vermont.
The company was founded in 1999 as Breakingviews.com and was acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2009, becoming Reuters brand for financial commentary.
Rob Cox is basically part of the international anti-American elite while claiming to be another Newtown resident with a day job.

It's not gun violence....Guns aren't violent.
It's insanity...and I don't believe in that "defense"...because it takes too much thought to do what he did.
To: raybbr
Will they also express concern for the 2+ million people who used a firearm this year to thwart an attack that could have ended up in the death of the victim?
To: raybbr
And the really funny part is, these people in Newtown actually believe that the Democrats give a rats ass about them and their dead children. And that they're not going to be dumped two seconds after they've outlived their usefullness.

If the people of Newtown want to make their town a gun free town, have at it. However, their jurisdiction and stupidity ends at the town line. For the rest of us, they have no say in the matter.

Rob Cox, Newtown resident and found of this group. is far more than a concerned neighbor. Here's his video from last April noting the surging gun sales in reaction to Obama's likely reelection:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWk4bd1OcH8. He is a skilled propagandist and quite influential. His disdain for the NRA even last April is quite obvious.

Human beings are unique in that they are capable of unemotional rational thought and reasoning. Hysteria should remain the venue of children and the seriously neurotic.
Extreme grieving is a form of insanity, a relatively temporary form of insanity. Yes, I have been there.
Why would we allow the insane to make socially strategic decisions and to create laws decreasing the safety, the security, and negatively affecting the lives of hundreds of millions?
Solely for the sake of doing something.
I know that not all the exploiters of tragedies are grieving, but their insanity is a more subtle sort, and the results of again trying what has over and over failed to work in the past, is just as irrational.
