SAN DIEGO -- When it comes to how California handles illegal immigrants, the state is all over the map. Not unlike the rest of the country, the Golden State can't decide whether it wants to make life comfortable for the undocumented or make them so unhappy that it runs them off.
'Twas always thus. Consider my home state's history over the past few decades.
In the 1980s, Republican Sen. Pete Wilson of California -- at the behest of agribusiness -- drove support for the Immigration Reform and Control Act, which President Ronald Reagan signed into law in 1986. The legislation granted amnesty to about 3 million illegal immigrants.
Then in the 1990s, when Wilson -- who had come home to serve as governor -- found himself with dismal approval ratings and a tough re-election battle, he drove support for Proposition 187, which California voters approved in 1994. The ballot initiative -- later struck down as unconstitutional -- denied illegal immigrants and their U.S.-born children access to schools, welfare and nonemergency health care.
Today, the tradition continues. And now, it's Democrats who are being inconsistent.

Ping. Our favorite LaRaza racist and media propaganda mouthpiece is at it again.
I think the article has it backwards.
Illegals are all over the CA Map, instead of CA is all over the map
with illegals.
So because it is private money the University of California is free
to use it however the donors specify? Don’t taxpayers get a say?
Afterall, Governor Jerry (if it’s) Brown (flush it) was all about
letting taxpayers vote for a tax increase. Surely he would endorse
a vote in this case. Maybe taxpayers would prefer that the limited
number of students granted enrollment be either citizens or
legitimate foreign students.

illegal immigrants ARE all over the map period.
Ruben has about as much credibility on this issue as Feinstein on guns or Obambam on fiscal responsibility. El es un La Raza pendejo.
It should read:
Illegal immigrants all over the California map.

Anything that is not 100% deportation is Amnesty. Too many excuses for Illegal Aliens...while we have Americans struggling
Each identity gets freebies by the carload----and is sucking off the backs of real Americans. You can bet the suckers don't want to queer the profitable scam.

As FREEPER REAGANSSHINYHAIR insightfully posted----Dreamer Ohaha may run ito some problems (cackle). WRT drivers' liceenses---they already used fake ID's to get licenses under different names....which also allows them to vote.
So, by Ohaha forcing them to get licenses under their real names, state computers will run a photo-match check to see if the same person has applied under different names.
Voila, they get investigated for ID theft and have to answer to a judge---and get prosecuted under US law. This frequently happens when a former illegal gets legal.
WASHINGTON The nations largest Latino organizations warned Congress on Wednesday that they will keep a report card during the immigration debate next year, with plans to mobilize their voters against lawmakers who do not support a comprehensive immigration bill.
Make no mistake, we will be watching, said Eliseo Medina, international secretary-treasurer of the Service Employees International Union, which led one of the most extensive Latino voter drives. The report card will show who stood with us and who stood against us on immigration reform, Mr. Medina said."(Excerpt) Read more at thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com ..
Threats probably cause corrupt federales to cower in fear----but in America IT IS AGAINST THE LAW to threaten a US lawmaker----and it is illegal to use threats to get legislation.

Stupids do not know how to navigate democracy and are undermining US ntl security. The Latino Service Employees International Union making threats should be rigorously investigated to determine (1) the source of its funding,(2) whether foreign govts subsidizee their activities, and, (3) the scope and dimension of lawreaking WRT latino vote drives.

THIS KIND OF CORRUPT THINKING IS REMINSCENT OF THE CIVIL WAR Carpetbaggers---Northern invaders to the South ----were prominent in politics until 1875, but nearly all left under pressure from the Red Shirts and White Liners -----white paramilitary organizations, then-described as "the military arm of the Democratic Party", working openly to violently overthrow Republican rule, using intimidation and assassination to turn Republicans out of office and suppress freedmen's (former slaves) voting.
The Republican sheriff of Yazoo, Mississippi, received a brief flurry of national attention when insurgent white Democrats took over the county government and forced him to flee. (WIKI)

FREEPER ACTION MEMO In 1875, Hiram Revels, a Mississippi Republican--and the first African-American US Senator--wrote to then-Pres Ulysses S. Grant denouncing Northern invaders into the post-Civil War south for manipulating the Black vote for personal benefit, and for keeping alive wartime hatreds. (WIKI)
We need to get someone with integrity----like Cong Allen West (not reelected)----- to write letters to his colleagues, and to the media.
Cong West needs to do the following:
(1) decry the agitation and intimidation tactics being used by latino groups,
(2) expose latinos using hatemongering for personal gain,
(3) emphasize the illegalities WRT threateing the US Congress, and,
(4) precpitate investigations into fraud and intimidation upon our electoral/legislative system by these hatemongering groups.
