100%, gold plated BS. That stat demands the methodology of the “study”. Domestic violence, drunken fights, and dope issues between natives must all be removed from the equation. NOt to mention that the gangsta hip-hop culture is alive and well on the res.
And passed through Pine Ridge last summer. Almost not a white person in sight, but as i entered the town from the south, it looked like there had been a shootout because there were so many bodies laying everywhere. On the streets, the sidewalks, etc. All dead drunk.
And where drunkness goes, violence follows. Their violence is home grown.

I told my kids when they got into their teen years that they were NOT going to be able to drink like their buddies, because they are 50% aboriginal Irish on both sides as well as having a small admixture of Cherokee blood, again on both sides, and greater than that claimed by Fauxcahontas. Genetically unable to detox it as fast as those Anglo-Saxons.
They seem to have taken it to heart. Both pretty wild, but neither one of them a drinker.

Eye opening. And my college age daughter was with me. We went out to wounded knee, then back through town, and headed on into the Black Hills and on to western Wyoming.
We had a great discussion about the fact that Pine Ridge is a pertri dish for what America would look like if the US govt ran everything with almost no local government.
There were propaganda signs everywhere, and every large structure was a government building of one kind or another.
We discussed why the absence of unlimited private property is so destructive. Every American should pass through there. If the federal footprint is so large there, and the result so poor, there are obvious questions to be asked. A racist answer is the go-to for some, but this evasion of truth only serves to protect the federal overlords and their local tribal vassals.

Cheyenne Eagle Butte is no better. Both counties took turns being the most poverty striken in the US. PINE Ridge is now what we will become if things continue as is

Interesting how it’s not reported here that most of those rapes are incest...so where do these figures come from? And from the mouths of Natives to my ears, Native punks on the res attack other Natives “all the time”. Someone pulled this crap out of their hat.
