I believe the NBA switched to all man-made materials for their basketballs. I found their press release about it. It includes a photo, which does not look like this one. Maybe somebody can clear up the confusion.

I’m not big on wearing fur as I love animals. Fur does have its uses though and I’m not going to attack others for choosing to wear it. That said, at least making animal skin into clothing to protect ourselves is more useful than making animal hide into a basketball for recreation. Just sayin’...
