A bill that originates from the majority, in which 151 of the majority votes
against is not a good sign for Bonehead.
Boneheads usefulness to the K-Street Money Changers may have ended.
They called it “The Taxpayers’ Relief Act”?
I wonder if the Nazis called their death camp laws “The Jewish Vacation Act”....
When they call it American Taxpayer Relief you know it’s no good for the people.
Mine, Gohmert, voted NAY!!
I see Cantor did as well. Don’t know what sort of Speaker he might make, but anyone other than Sadsack John can only be better.
The 151 need to refer to this deal as the “make our kids pay for it act.”
My Rep voted no and sent out an e-mail explaining why he was voting against the bill.
He has also co-authored a House bill to freeze the pay of Congress in an effort to thwart the EO Obama signed giving raises to federal workers and Congress.
Bonehead needs to be voted out, thing is I don’t trust Cantor either, he’s been 2nd in command and learned bad habits from Bonehead.
The GOP is officially part of the Democrat Party
Agree. The entire leadership including Cantor and McCarthy must go.
So Simpson in Idaho voted “yes”. Any takers for the Idaho primaries?
Damn don’t leave it up to me...
Multiply 2% times your salary last year. (i.e. 2% x $75,000= $1500) You will pay that amount in a tax increase this year. A 2 percent payroll tax cut, enacted during the economic slowdown, is now expired and was not renewed in this passed bill. Damn Republicans!
Ryan voted AYE???
Good God. This country is officially gone to the sh!tter.
Amnesty for 11 million new Democrats is next.
Rubio and the Republicans will hand it to him without a fight.
Obama, the Democrats, and La Raza will promise vigorous enforcement of existing immigration laws in return.
They always name the bills the opposite of what they really are. Haven’t you noticed?
For example, the Affordable Care Act is not affordable.
The way the political system works two or more candidates will be created to split the primary vote so the RINO can win the primary.
A better strategy to deal with the RINO’s is to primary them with one candidate and have another set to run as a third party or independent if the RINO wins the primary.
Isn't that amazing? Something that "cuts" 15 billion and raises 600 billion is a taxpayer relief act. Their taxpayers must live on Mars, certainly not the US.
I'm done with the GOP.
Very Orwellian
I don’t know about other kids, but being in my 70s I was afraid that if I died, much of everything I have earned and saved by driving a 16 year old car, buying clothes at church sales, almost never going out, etc. would go to the government instead of my children and grandchildren. At least they fixed the Death Tax to a bearable level.
Huh?
Any death tax over 0% is to high.
You already paid taxes on everything you have. some you pay a yearly tax on.
You sir should not have your estate taxed once you leave this planet.
it’s not fair to you.
These people in charge need to be run out of the country on both sides.
The republicans are just like the liberals/ tax and more
government in ones life. What a disgrace.
“These people in charge need to be run out of the country on both sides.

No, the Republicans simply didn’t have the votes to do otherwise. Pubs lost the election and the election had consequences. This is one of them. You can’t have your way if you haven’t got the votes. Pure and simple.
The new congress convenes this Thursday. Boehner could be toast!
Still, we have about 95 Republican members of Congress to be looked into for the possibility of being driven out at the next primary. Many of them ~ the majority actually ~ are from states where we might well want to EXCLUDE the whole Republican party apparatus from the NEW Republican Party. California, New York ~ the usuals where they don't deliver votes to us for President, and they seem to have lost the will to run Senate candidates.
Even Virginia, with its two Democrat senators could be in trouble when we get into purging parties.
Did you know even my fiebreathing drunk Democrat congresscritter voted AGAINST THIS! The dude is showing more cojones lying there on a beerjoint floor than Boehner and his crowd did!
Oh, go sell it somewhere else..
“The Republicans won the House. That’s where they are in the leadership position. It’s time to lead and Boehner and 51 others groveled.”
You remain oblivious to reality. The Pubs would lose no matter. Their vote would be nullified by the Senate and the Obama Admin. It is and was a lose/lose proposition no matter what Boehner and the House did, as the Pubs do not have the votes to win in either the Senate or to be able to override a White House veto. It truly is as simple as that.
“Oh, go sell it somewhere else..”
You don’t take truth very well, do you, even when it hits you upside the head. Face reality. If you really want to do something, start preparing for the second Civil War, a fact that seems more and more inevitable.
>> a White House veto.
How can the White Hut veto its way to authorize Congressional spending?
“How can the White Hut veto its way to authorize Congressional spending?”
They don’t have to. Example, the Hurricane Sandy funding. How are the Pubs going to refuse or minimize authorization of funds without being excoriated in the press and by the Dems. And every time the Pubs close the purse strings to any welfare benefit or other giveaway, the MSM and Dems will go into high propaganda gear.
Then Pubs stand to lose the House this next midterm election because the ignorant low information voters are told how to think by the media and Obama, and then we have control over nothing. We have a dictatorship. Prepare for the second Civil War. It’s coming one day.

Definitely understand that reasoning.
Yes, we all get to go to Terrazienstadt....
I wonder if we could get the time-stamped vote
Ing record to see all those at the end who voted no since the Bill had already passed.
I prefer “The Permanent Bush Tax Cuts” Act
that is the social security tax and yes, everyone should pay it. a 2 year “vacation” from funding SS was a very very bad idea
I vividly recall in 2010 election his stating emphatically "We've got to get back to the Constitutional principles" and promptly after election joined the establishment Republicans and hid under their desks in fear of being called racists for challenging Zero on legal principle. It's all so disgusting.
My Rep voted no, but I do not know if he voted before or after the threshold was crossed.
I noted that my congresscritter - Palazzo of MS voted no, but I’ll still be sending him notice that I no longer consider myself a Republican and will be changing to Independent ASAP. Now to find out how Roger Wicker voted in the Senate...

Two years ago I moved within South Carolina to be closer to my son’s school. It wasn’t until election time that I realized I had left Clyburn’s territory! Yessssss!

It looked to me like Ca had more Reps vote against this bill than for it. I noticed that at least one that voted "aye" has already been districted out - Bilbray. Issa, Hunter, McClintock voted "nay". Let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater.... You won't find a more conservative guy than Tom McClintock.
well....
Aug 22, 2012 President Obama tells Congress he’ll extend a 2-year-old federal worker pay freeze through April 2013.
So it really is just a political stunt, depends on how long ago people can remember.
he basically was just unfreezing something he froze a while ago.
but looking FURTHER back, the house themselves vote that freeze in back in Feb 2012.
this is all a political show to them.
It may be time to pull the party out of California and with it the aqueduct ~ keep that water for the states where the few remaining Republicans will move.
If the minority can convince enough members of the ruling party to sign up, they can try to move things with a discharge petition.
This morning we are finding out from Peter King that the House didn't take up a bill to give my tax dollars to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire and Delaware on account of Hurricane Sandy.
King is mad as a wet hen. Apparently he was momentarily distracted with the Obama Tax Increase and thought they would vote for everything. Well, the next Speaker (Thursday's the day guys), may well remind New Yorkers that fiscal prudence on their part might have given them the funding necessary to take care of their own disasters!
Republican voting is always down, but by about half the margin of the Democrats UNLESS there's a big scandal in the party involving 2 or more homosexuals or pedophiles.
Might get that stuff out of the way early ~ like the Democrats did Masa where it looks like they had a double-header underway with just one guy!
Remember, the Democrats buy off gays ~ doesn't mean they like them. But Republican voters have a fairly large faction who won't show up if they think the gays are running the party.
I think Romney and McCain suffered from some of that ~ by about 4 million voters worth.
