Interesting development in Bronco land. As most NFL fans know the Broncos go up against the Ravens this Saturday in Denver. Tickets made available for the game at the Denver Bronco ticket office last week sold out in minutes. However, on the secondary market via Ticketmaster & StubHub
there are currently close to 10 thousand tickets up for sale. As the game approaches, with little buying activity up to this point, prices are dropping rapidly. The fact that the weather forecast for Saturday at game time predicts 20 degree temperatures isn't helping. Daytime highs in Denver for several days now have been in the 50’s. A cold front arrives Friday. The Broncos need a boisterous crowd Saturday ... a lot of ‘no shows’ won’t help.

I’ve wondered since the late 60’s how the Washington Racist Nicknames get away with that name. Why aren’t the Native Americans protesting daily in D. C.?

They protest the Italians and Columbus Day every year in Denver. The use of this name by the team from D. C. amazes me.

If you are going to use a racist nickname for a D. C. team, wouldn’t you-know-what be more fitting?

Courtland Milloy really believes this stuff. He believes in “magic”.

I wonder if he can explain where the Redskins’ bad karma was when they won three Super Bowls. Or when they kicked the Seahawks’ ass.

Where was this bad karma when the ‘Skins were dominant during the Joe Gibbs era ?

And, another thing— Not all Native Americans find names like “Redskins” offensive. I live about 2 miles away from the Seminole reservation here in Florida. In almost every convenience store, you can buy all kinds of FSU junk and most of the folks on the reservation are FSU fans for some weird reason.

“This nonsense has been going on for a long time”

Around 2001 the State of Maryland spent millions of dollars in taxpayer money to force any high School with a Native American name to change it. The Poolesville Indians became the Poolesville Falcons for one example. It was ironic hat the Redskins who play in Maryland were not subject to this.

Bad karma. Balderdash. The Bengals must have a load of it because they haven’t won a playoff game in 22 years, and they made fools themselves again against the Texans...again.

“This is a new era. Attitudes are changing; progressive thinking is emerging on everything from guns, gays and gas guzzling to debt, deficits and doctor bills.”

Apparently, the 48 million of us who voted against this crap do not exist. Jew hater Obama didn’t even win 51% of the vote.

Absolutely. Matt Cassel proved why he threw only 11 passes in college and Jake Locker appears to be fragile.

If we are going to remove all names related to “indigenous peoples”, then we will have to rename many of the state universities and their respective teams.

States With Indian Names

Alabama - Thicket Clearers
Alaska - Great Land
Arizona - Silver Slabs
Arkansas - Down Stream People
Connecticut - Upon The Long River
Dakota - Related People
Idaho - Sunrise, It Is Morning
Illinois - Men Or Great Men
Indiana - Land Of The Indians
Iowa - Drowsy People
Kansas - People Of The South Wind
Kentucky - Hunting Ground
Massachusetts - Great Hill
Michigan - Great Water
Minnesota - Sky Tinted Water
Mississippi - Father Of Water
Missouri - Long Canoe People
Nebraska - Flat Water
New Mexico - Aztec God Mexitili
Ohio - Beautiful Valley
Oklahoma - Land Of The Red Man
Oregon - Beautiful Water
Tennessee - From Chief Tannassie
Texas - Tejas Or Allies
Utah Those - Who Dwell High Up
Wisconsin - Where Waters Gather
Wyoming - Great Plain

http://www.firstpeople.us/glossary/States-With-Indian-Names.html

We have not begun to look at city names.

Chicago (Illinois): Algonquian for “garlic field.”
Miami is out.

Then we have to satisfy all those “separation of Church & State” loonies.

No more St. Louis, San Diego or New Orleans Saints.

I watched him for the first time in the skins-hawks game last Sunday. He was indeed clueless in that game. Not a single 1st down, not even a single completed pass. He was pathetic in that short stint by any standard of measurement.

But you may be right since you know him better than I do.
