A group of celebrities have decided to boycott Wendy's because that company is alleged to have cut hours for its employees to get out from under the requirements imposed for Obamacare.
There are two things wrong with this.
The first wrong thing is that only a single Wendy's franchise owner is taking this course of action and not the entire chain. The Washington Free Beacon reports that the franchise owner in Omaha, Neb., (not southern California) is taking this action because he cannot afford to provide the health care insurance that Obamacare requires for his full-time employees. It is either make everyone part-time or start closing down shop.
The second wrong thing is that one of the celebrities is Nathan Fillion, an actor who is currently the star of the hit TV series "Castle" but is more identified with one of the most red-state, redneck libertarian characters in the history of television, Captain Mal Reynolds of the Serenity, a small businessman like but also unlike the Wendy's franchise owner.

Yeah...but Mal doesn’t have to live and work in Hollywood like Nathan does. :)
The purpose of businesses isn’t to provide jobs or health insurance. Period, end of story.
Maybe “Our Mrs Reynolds” kissed him again?
Jayne: Six men came to kill me one time. And the best of ‘em carried this. It’s a Callahan full-bore auto-lock. Customized trigger, double cartridge thorough gauge. It is my very favorite gun.
[he holds the gun out to Mal]
Mal: [exclaims in Chinese] You offering me a trade?
Jayne: A trade? Hell, it’s theft. This the best gun made by man. It has *extreme* sentimental value. It’s miles more worthy ‘n what you got!
Mal: What I got? She has a name.
Jayne: So does this. I call it Vera.
Mal: Well, my days of not takin’ ya seriously are certainly comin’ to a middle.
I think of that quote whenever I think of the last two presidential elections.
Mal wasn’t Canadian :)
“Aimin’ to misbehave” is in the finest American tradition
who and who??? AND who cares???
Well, I don’t eat at Wendy’s because I don’t particularly like their food. But if I were in Omaha, I’d drop by for a chicken sammich or something.
I follow this guy on Twitter and saw the tweet to which this article refers. I am so glad to see this article because it captured my thoughts exactly.
Republicans mostly prefer Subway over Wendy’s.
Most Wendy workers are probably democrat voters.
If liberal actors want to hurt liberal workers, who voted for a liberal president, which resulted in their liberal company,
hurting their pay, why does any republican want to stand in the way? let’s join the boycott, a two for one.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: [RE: What they found on Miranda] This record here's about twelve years old. Parliament buried it and it stayed buried until River here dug it up. This is what they were afraid she knew. And they were right to fear. There's a universe of folk who're gonna know it, too. Someone *has to* speak for these people.
[pause]
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Y'all got on this boat for different reasons, but y'all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin'. I aim to misbehave.
Sounds a lot like now, doesn't it?
I loved Firefly. Gone before its time. Still watch all the old episodes.
It’s almost as if fictional characters aren’t real.
Good point. Liberals have difficulty following actions to logical conclusions.
Boycott Wendy’s and more workers lose their jobs.
Silly conservative. It's not about results.
It's about feelings.
ROTFL! Here's my favorite example of lunatics taking guidance from fictional characters:
My wife went to Vegas on business and brought me back the Rules of Acquisition.
