Interesting. I am not a fan of theirs, but they make a good point here.
There is a series done by Penn & Teller on the 2A, three, I believe, in the series and they are on Youtube. Well done and to the point. Try this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhXOuuHcjbs

How can you not be a fan of a guy who names his daughter “Moxie Crimefighter Jillette”?

1) the Revolutionary war was not fought for two years (granted, minor error, unrelated to the rest of their points).
2) "well regulated militia" does not refer to a "military" to defend the country.
Thanks for finding this !!!! Did you get our Hilary e-mail?
I am a proud owner of one of their metal Bill of Rights, bought at their show in Vegas. Several parts of their Vegas show must make libs fume!
The founders were clear that by militia they meant all of the people capable of bearing arms. The constitution has many instances of an explanatory clause followed by a declarative clause. The explanatory clause outlines the need and the declarative clause gives the power or restriction.
To promote the arts and sciences, the exclusive right to the writing or discovery is granted for a limited time. Congress does not have the power to do anything that would promote the arts and science, they have the power to grant patents for that purpose.
Thanks, DFU, keep watching over and over and still keep laughing.

Well - how many of them were from us ?
Great post on #2.
Q: how many bullets are needed to defend the life of yourself, family, friends, and neighbors?
A: as many as it takes.
Q: how much is that?
A: as many as it takes.
Depends on when you define the start of the war. Some will place it not at Lexington or Concord, but rather in 1774 when, the colonists rejected parlimentary rule and formed the First Continental Congress. If you want to base it simply on the use of force, British troops were already killing politically active colonists in 1770.
The militia were under the command of Washington in the Revolutionary War, so Penn is not completely incorrect in referring to the militia as military in that context.
