Like Nimrod, early revolutionaries like Marx did not doubt God’s existence either. This is why Marx and similar thinking revolutionaries chose to call themselves antitheists rather than atheists. They knew that God exists but set their wills against Him and forbidding the asking of questions, required blind submission in all things. In obedience, the ‘new’ Marxist, Soviet, Darwinian, secular humanist man asks no questions and by way of destructive criticism, ridicule, scorn, etc. permits no one else to ask them either.

Whereas Nimrod’s sect served a deity of evil (Satan, Shaytan, Shemyaza, Lucifer) early antitheists did as well. From Marx to Saul Alinsky, they acknowledged Lucifer as the first free-thinker, the one who liberated man from the ‘evil’ God of creation, the god in whose genetic image they are made, the god of evolution, and so on.

I like the way you think.;-)

Discussion of this subject causes a new term to pop into mind...

"Fabian antitheism" -- The gradual process of indoctrination in which believers are moved first to non-belief and then slowly to belief in the god of evil.

Very interesting article; thank you.

I’m always amazed at how many Christians believe evolution and Christianity can exist side-by-side and somehow complement the other. A study of Scripture clearly shows that evolution contradicts the word of God.

Personally, I think some folks are afraid of being thought of as backward hillbillies if they don’t give the nod to evolution.....it’s easier to give in and go along.

Dostoevsky wrote about this in Crime and Punishment.
Great novel.

Thank you so much for your wonderful essay, dear spirited irish!

Truly, this country - and the world generally - is suffering from a diseased spirit. But it shall not last.

Thank-you and the same holds for you:

“”Fabian antitheism” — The gradual process of indoctrination in which believers are moved first to non-belief and then slowly to belief in the god of evil.”

How very true!

“What I mean is that while there is still a relative balance between those who ascribe to God and those who deny or live as they want the society will continue to be as we see today - relatively safe in areas split but in areas already past the tipping point, dangerous for everyone.”

Spirited: Creeping moral decay serves the same purpose as heresy, that is, a thresher separating the chaff from the wheat until finally, the tipping point is reached when the unrighteous far outnumber the righteous.

At that time it will be as you said, the Godless will consume each other and the society they’ve created.

Spirited: Agreed. I find myself continually amazed and at the same time dismayed by how easily many theologians so easily accept evolution. Evolutionary thinking has captured and continues to capture theologians beginning with Protestant Liberals and then on to Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Evangelical.

It seems they fear man more than our Lord.

Of the Races

Blacks are the most religious,
Hispanics the 2nd,
Whites 3rd
Asians last

Now put in order which ones are more likely to Lie, Cheat, Plunder, and Kill

Thank you for the ping. Great reading! I love all of the quotes/references sprinkled throughout the essay. So pertinent and revealing.

If there is no God, then there is NO logical reason to be "good" (i.e. in the traditional sense of virtuous behavior - Ten Commandments/Golden Rule). And of course, those who have accepted the lie that there is no God, will lie, cheat, plunder and kill since they become their own 'gods' and get to define what is 'good'. All so very selfish and self-centered, rather than the self-less and other-centered creatures that we are called to be to realize our full God-created potential and meaning and be at peace in the Truth.

"You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you." ... St. Augustine

I'd hazard a guess that the crime rate among self-avowed atheists is drastically lower than the rest of the population as well.

Another issue is that religious belief is inversely related to levels of education - that is, if you have a PhD you're far, far less likely to be a believer than if you only have a HS Diploma.

Does anyone think that PhD's murder at a higher rate than High School graduates?

Ahhh. That sounds too hard. Why don’t you do it for us?

Your question doesn’t include what influence a cultural element might play in this scenario. Does your proposal include the races in a world-wide context, or merely a US context? Don’t you suppose the cultural context and the range of its cultural range might influence our judgment?

So you are saying culture and a whole bunch of other factors influnce what kind morals you have and not belief/unbelief in an invisible diety in the sky?

Yes, I agree.
