President Obama: Where are the Women?

January 10, 2013

President Obama has made a number of high-profile appointments recently -- four at last count, and they are all white men. Susan Rice, U.S. ambassador to the U.N., was in line to follow Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. The right wing unjustly smeared Rice, and despite the efforts of NOW and allied women's organizations, she was pushed aside and replaced with a white male nominee. And now we hear that Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis is leaving her post. Who will be her replacement?

Write to President Obama today and urge him to appoint more women to his cabinet and other top posts. We need women, particularly women of color, in high-level positions in our federal government. A great place to start is the chair of the Federal Communications Commission -- a position that will be open soon and has never been held by a woman.

Women have made great strides in government, but we need a critical mass to really make a difference. Now is not the time to go back.

Write to the president today! Subject: President Obama: Where are the Women? Your Letter: Dear President Obama: I am writing to you today as a strong supporter of women's rights. We cannot advance justice for women in the United States and around the globe without women's leadership at all levels of government. I am concerned that the current trend in your cabinet appointments has excluded women and people of color. Women, especially women of color, are being disproportionately affected by current debates over the federal budget, education policy and access to health care, and their perspective needs to be represented among your top advisers. There is no doubt that qualified women exist for each and every position you will be called to fill, so there is no excuse to consign the vast majority of decision-making power and authority to men. I am counting on you to promote diversity at the highest levels of government. A great place to start would be naming a woman as the next chair of the Federal Communications Commission, a position that has never been held by a woman. We do not want to see this country take a major step back. Please make us proud with your next round of appointments. Sincerely,

President Barack Obama Phone:(202) 456-1111 Fax:(202) 456-2461

Obama is a muzzie. Muzzie’s don’t acknowledge women, except for owning or raping.

I meant “to” not “too,” of course.

The Democrats and Big Media (but I am being redundant) don’t care about the treatment of women by Democrats! Wake up! /s I tried to reason with Leftist friends when Clinton ran afoul of numerous women in the ‘groping’, etc, dept. I told them ‘but they are all DEMOCRAT women who are accusing him!’. My (former) friends didn’t care. I actually saw Anita Hill on morning TV the week the Lewinsky scandal broke. When asked about Clinton’s behavior, she said ‘well, you really have to consider his voting record’. I was done with the Left at that very moment. A committed Conservative ever since.

I suspect their resumes are in binders in Mitt Romney’s office. After all, Obozo said he didn’t have any binders with women’s resumes in them.

Honestly, I’d just assume B.O. DOESN”T nominate ANY women. The ones he picks are the worst of the worst. I’d say let this one go. Why goad him into picking an even worse choice than he’s already made?!?

So what’s wrong with Obama’s female picks? Just because they’re fat, stupid, and ugly doesn’t mean he should stop now does it?

The right wing unjustly smeared Rice

Of course, it's the republicans fault again.

Susan Rice didn't make any mistakes with the Benghazi attacks and the scandalous handling that followed.

And of course, the republicans are at fault for Obama picking an all-male, all-white, set of replacements for those that left the administration.

Democrats will never "man up" to their mistakes, and republicans had better start responding and standing up to the idiotic charges, by NOW and all the other, "blame-republicans-for-everything-that-goes-wrong" crowds.

What woman would want to serve in an administration where the VP can say to her (upon being sworn in to the Senate) “Spread your legs. You are going to be frisked.” And nobody protests! Any place, other than DC, he would be fired and shown the door. George Allen was nearly crucified for saying “macacca” (and I’m still not sure what that is supposed to mean) but Joe Biden gets away with the most vile comments to women and everybody shrugs.
