Biden Compares Gun Control to Car Air Bags: ´We´re Saving Lives´

Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday compared restrictions on guns to auto safety regulations such as air bags, by saying neither the gun nor the auto industries wanted regulations to save lives. “Well they didn’t want to have air bags. Well, guess what? We have air bags. We’re saving lives,” Biden told reporters before a meeting with several stakeholders on the gun-control issue, as he plans to craft a set of proposals for President Barack Obama by Tuesday, Jan. 15. The proposals are expected to include a renewed ban on so-called assault weapons, and beefed-up background checks.

What this country needs is some “Traitor Control.”

The U. S. Government is way behind schedule to indict, try, convict, sentence, and execute sentence on traitorous vermin like Buttboy Biden, his Master, Traitorobama, and the rest of his treasonous gang.

He frames it as regulating an industry rather than limiting an individual right. Pretty nice slight of hand. It would be nice if the public could be counted on to see through it and ride him out of town on a rail.

Our vice presidential clown is more right than he realizes. When airbags were in testing they found the government design (for an unbelted male at 30mph) was dangerous. It would kill children and smaller adults. Joan Claybrook told the testers to keep quiet about the dangers because we need the American public to think air bags are like instant pillows and not dangerous explosives. So Joe is right the American people will have to be lied to again to sell the snake oil of gun registration.

INCONVENIENT FACT: According to no less an authority than the peer-reviewed Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy, countries with stringent gun control laws have higher murder and suicide rates than those without.

DOCUMENTATION: “Would Banning Firearms Reduce Murder and Suicide?” A Review of International and Some Domestic Evidence by Don B. Kates and Gary Mauser, Volume 30, Number 2 of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy, pages 649-694. (To download a PDF copy of the journal article, simply Google the title. It is available on the web free of charge.)

QUOTE FROM ARTICLE: “If you are surprised by our findings, so are we. We did not begin this research with any intent to “exonerate” handguns, but there it is — a negative finding, to be sure, but a negative finding is nevertheless a positive contribution. It directs us where not to aim public health resources.”

INDIRECTION: The trick hoplophobes always use is to say that America has higher gun-murder rates than other countries, but many of those “murders” are criminals killed in the act of committing violent crimes. Compare absolute murder rates, and the result is “more guns, less murder.” (Source: GunFacts.info);

SECOND INCONVENIENT FACT: According to DOJ crime statistics, guns are used by US citizens 2.5 million times per year to prevent violent crimes like rape, robbery, home-invasion and carjacking, 99% of the time without a shot being fired. (Source: GunFacts.info)

THIRD INCONVENIENT FACT: “Assault weapons” (AKA semiautomatic rifles) are used in less than 1% of gun crimes. (Source: GunFacts.info)

QUESTION: If gun-free zones make people safe, then why don’t we declare the immediate vicinity of the President and Vice-President to be gun-free zones and send the Secret Service home? Or are gun-free zones good enough for our kids, but not good enough for our overlords?

METAPHOR: America has more private gun ownership than most other countries, so naturally there are more gun murders. America also has more hospitals than most other countries, so naturally we have more people dying in hospitals. Does that mean we should outlaw hospitals?

They will say there are even limitations for 1st amendment rights. Yes that is true. But those limits ALWAYS apply in public places, e.g.,can’t shout fire in a theatre. There is no limit to 1st amendment rights when someone is in their own home. Therefore there should be no limit to 2nd amendment rights when someone is in their own home. No registration. No limits whatsoever. as many guns as you wnat in your own home.

Local law enforcement can then apply reasonable limits in regard to public places when there is a compelling reason. They have been doing that since the days of the old west. The feds have no business in this. anyway that’s the way I see it

“we aren’t saying you can’t have a gun. we aren’t even saying you can’t wear a gun. You just can’t wear a gun in town”

Re Apples and Oranges.

In addition, auto makers fought regulations to force them to sell airbags. Gun makers are fighting regulations that would prevent from selling their products.

high caliber low gauge ammunition

Techically calibre and guage are almost identical, just different methods of measuring the same thing - the bore of the gun.

People use guns for self-defense 3 million times a year.
Talk about saving lives.

Stupid Biden doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about (as usual).

Bad comparison - I’m not going to shoot someone coming for my air bag.
