Normally I’d be tempted to just add this as an update to the previous post, but it’s just too delicious not to highlight on its own. As Duane wrote in his GR post, Piers Morgan went from his embarrassing display in his interview with Ben Shapiro to lamenting about Shapiro’s “intransigent” performance with Mark Kelly afterward. Eric Wemple at the Washington Post confirms that Shapiro wasn’t intransigent — he was just a lot smarter than Morgan and beat him at his own game:
Wemple then excerpts Shapiro’s challenge to Morgan on handguns. Murders by rifle are relatively rare, more rare than murders by knives, for example. Most murders by firearm involve handguns — so why isn’t Morgan backing a handgun ban, too? Wemple cuts out the best part of Shapiro’s pushback, though:
SHAPIRO: This is what I wanted to ask you, Piers, because I have seen you talk about assault weapons a lot, and I have seen Mark Kelly talk about assault weapons. The vast majority of murders in this country that are committed with guns are committed with handguns, they are not committed assault weapons. Are you willing to ban handguns in this country, across this country?
MORGAN: No, that’s not what I’m asking for.
SHAPIRO: Why not? Don’t you care about the kids who are being killed in Chicago as much as the kids in Sandy Hook?
That’s the exact kind of argument that Morgan uses on his guests, but can’t handle when used back on him. Wemple points out that Morgan seemed completely unprepared for his own tactics to be used on himself, and for Shapiro’s preparation:
Where Jones proved needy of a background screening, Shapiro was rational and on point. Where Jones failed to directly address Morgan’s points, Shapiro went right at them. Where Jones monologued, Shapiro got through his points quickly and shut up. All those skills came in handy as Morgan tried to trap Shapiro by noting that Ronald Reagan had supported curbs on assault weapons:
MORGAN: One of the great right-wing presidents of modern times agreed with me.
Shapiro’s priceless retort: “So?”
Unless we start being honest about what the 2nd Amendment was put there for - as a defense against tyrants - we'll surely lose it.
“So” is actually a great response! This communist interloper thought he tempered the argument and maybe even gain some fans with the Reagan mention. Ain’t gonna work douchebag. I think he’s feeling the heat.

Liberal elites do their best to use anything a Republican has said - as a tool - to beat us. Liberal elites use the Bible the same way... even when they don't believe a word of it.

One of my buds here in L.A. works for the Price is Right and sometimes, his duties send him to the studio beside for Jeopardy. The stories he tells about the other contestants ridiculing other contestants for the first stages are brutal. Sometimes fist fights happen after 1 dude was getting killed by more than 50,000 points by the others...lesson to be learned, you better be smart.

I had the same “argument” with a homo parishioner. Whenever there’s Gay week, the ass muncher parishioners show up at mass, in force. If it’s not gay week, they are literally invisible. When I said “if you want to be accepted like everyone else, why are you gays not here on the regular mass time?”. He clammed up and hilariously said “you are a bigot!’ :)
Id be all for sending Morgan’s ugly ass to Iran but I think even Iran has their standards

But didn’t Shapiro agree that there should be universal background checks and a national register? I wonder if that would include private sales. Otherwise, he did well.
I am actually shocked that Pees on his feet Morgan did not want to ban hand guns. That is a shock. Normally anti gunners want them all. Every stinking one of them.
Morgan also bypassed the discussion of the shooters being young males and on psycotrophic drugs. Ben Shapiro tried to bring it up but Morgan with his usual snotty attitude talked over him and shut the conversation down.
Yes, but Shapiro did not disappoint. Breitbart’s organization has cranked out some excellent voices for our side.
It is called incrementalism. The Left excels at it.. Look at socialized medicine.
Who knows - maybe he's since moderated his stance. Or maybe not.
Oh, they want them all alright. They're just more patient than we are...1 step at a time. First things first and before we know it we'll all have surrendered all our guns, every single one of them. That's their plan anyway...they're going to in for a big surprise though.
