The controlled study documented in these videos show that concealed carry permit holders are fooling themselves if they think they will be able to react effectively to armed aggressors. Most CCW holders won't even be able to un-holster their gun. They will more likely be killed themselves or kill innocent bystanders than stop the aggressor. In an unpublished report, engineering statistician William Sturdevant found that concealed carry licensees had arrest rates far lower than the general population for every category of crime. For instance:
Licensees were 5.7 times less likely to be arrested for violent offenses than the general public - 127 per 100,000 population versus 730 per 100,000.
Licensees were 14 times less likely to be arrested for nonviolent offenses than the general public - 386 per 100,000 population versus 5,212 per 100,000.
Further, the general public is 1.4 times more likely to be arrested for murder than licensees [ see Figure I ], and no licensee had been arrested for negligent manslaughter.

They start with anywhere from zero to over a hundred hours of firearms experience; I have many thousands of hours of experience. It appears to be their first day with the firearm and holster; I have had my weapons for a very long time. They put the experimental subjects in an unfamiliar environment surrounded by people they neither know nor care about; I spend the vast majority of my time in familiar locations where I have already thought through what might go wrong. Exactly how is this test in any way valid, except for its intended purpose - as propaganda?
