Just because they heard someone say “smartphone” these dumb politicians think there can be a smart gun.
Dear Joe: the problem is not the object. It’s the human holding it. Criminals are not the same as honest, law abiding people or police officers.

A smart Vice President would be a good start, but that is out of the question with Biden in the office.

I want my smart phone to be as reliable as my AR-15, not the reverse.

An Ap for your smart phone to act like an AR15 ~ that's the ticket!
Makes its own bullets.

Never thought I’d see smart and Biden in the same sentence.

No wonder everyone is rushing to buy any kind of gun they can get their hands on.
By the time the Socialist model gun comes on the market, it will weigh at least 10 pounds, be plastered with warning labels, won’t work, and will cost $5000...the money going to a crony of Obama, of course. Only a total idiot would put Obama and Biden in charge of their family’s safety.

It’s a trap.
Two words:
EMP.
Electromagnetic Pulse.
Police are already using it to disable cars (with only spotty success, but its a new technology). Older cars with no sensitive chip technology? Impervious. This could be modelled on “ Cash for Clunkers.” We’ll let you trade in your dangerous old guns for these shiny new “smart” weapons, because then when we come for you we can just turn your weapons off. Neat trick. So the only people buying “smart” guns will be, well, not so smart. To put it politely.

I remember cars with a seat belt interlock. You could not start the car without fastening your seatbelt.
Folks just disconnected the seatbelt interlock system.
To: Olog-hai
let the cops or biden's security detail test the new technology

Need to put one of these in the hands of all politicians. There, fixed it.

And what would happen to Lifetime movies? Usually at the end of the movie the woman grabs a gun that doesn't belong to her (usually because the guy trying to save her has been incapacitated) and kills the villian.

There have been quite a few cases of family members using their dad’s gun to protect the home.
Wonder how that will work if it is not set up for all family members.

I wonder how much it would cost to defeat this “smart” gun feature. Regardless of the price, I would happily upgrade every firearm I purchased with a mandatory flaw that severe. At least they are creating a business opportunity!
