As depth of betrayal sinks in, followers of Al Gore feel confused and misled

In the history of mankind there are countless instances of cult figures who have lead their followers to ruin and disillusionment. Names like Jim Jones, David Koresh, The Pied Piper, Bernie Madoff, Adolph Hitler, Charles Manson, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and a whole host of TV evangelists have done their damage.

It was easy for those outside and not sucked in by these hucksters to see the message they peddled defied logic, science and the laws of economics: Alchemy, master race, buy your way into heaven, getting something for nothing, all have that common thread.

...

Gore was making hundreds of millions from his “work” and many of the green movements/companies that get government funding, have Mr. Gore’s fingerprints on them somewhere.

But crushingly, Gores followers are starting to realize Mr. Gores feet are made of clay. He sold his failing "Current" cable-television station for about $500 million, which he personally gets 100 million, to the anti-American Al-Jazeera media company…which is owned by the fossil-fuel-rich royal family of Qatar.

Gore rushed to close the deal before the first of the year to avoid the very capital-gains tax hikes that he has advocated for others less well off.

In one fell swoop Mr. Gore has enhanced a fossil-fuel consortium, attempted to beat tax hikes he has advocated that others should pay and empowered an anti-American/anti-Semitic media conglomerate.

The blatant hypocrisy & betrayal to the cause has not been lost on his followers who have expressed shock and bewilderment that their titular leader of the “green movement” sold them out for 100 million pieces of silver.

Not just ANY SUV. It’s a Cadillac Escalade! That’s the biggest, most oppulent, least fuel effecient SUV on the market!

Moral relativism has consequences.

This bears repeating.

Yes, a very frightening thought.

Once great, the city has become a cesspool, taken over by the 60% black population.

Government of, by and for activists (excerpted)

University think tank’s lawsuit raises serious questions about the old and new EPA Ron Arnold

"Lisa Jackson leaves a scary legacy that time-bombs like IPI’s transportation fuel cap-and-trade scheme will greatly expand. EPA is already prepared to unleash its first wave of carbon dioxide regulations – to augment punitive taxes that some members of Congress want to impose on hydrocarbon use and carbon-dioxide emissions, and new treaty obligations that United Nations climate alarmists are devising to regulate energy use at the international level.

"Any one of these actions would send new shock waves through America’s still weak economy. If all three are imposed – especially in conjunction with Obamacare, just-passed tax hikes on small business job creators, and reams of other government regulations – the impacts will be devastating. EPA alone inflicts some $353 billion in annual regulatory burdens, notes a report by the Competitive Enterprise Institute."

No mention of his chakra, however.

The pissant sloganeers are great at chanting “follow the money.” But...not so good at following the warmist liars’ money.

Gore and his family have always known the value of a dollar -- and pursued it vigorously using whatever connections they had at hand. Gore's old man served on Communist tycoon's corporate board for many years.

If it's any consolation, those "pieces of silver" are very small any more -- about 7/10's as large as a 1950 dime, according to a story I saw about inflation back in 2007, when a 1950 dime was worth a 2007 dollar (now depreciated by about 30%).

Still, even at 7 cents each, 100,000,000 "pieces" are still worth a pretty good pile -- enough to replace the Naval Observatory digs Gore used to swell around in, in the 1990's.

Something tells me the expose is just beginning.

The sale of Teapot Dome (the old Naval Reserve) to Occidental Petroleum in the 1990's while Clinton was Mandarin President and Traitor-in-Residence would be a good place to start.

Gore had, has, a substantial stake in Occidental/Oxy.

His nutty wife even tried to ban rock and roll!

Tipper actually got some points in some sectors, because it wasn't all of R&R/R&B she was going after, but death-metal and rap and various other extreme "beyond Nazareth" excrescences that later on turned out to be some of Harris & Klebold's (as in, Columbine High School) favorite listening.

Too bad Tipper had to put up with getting lip-raped at a national convention on primetime TV. Ow. Better put some ice on that, Tipper.

Correction:
Gore's old man served on Communist tycoon [Armand Hammer]'s corporate board for many years.

Addendum:
Gore got his "warmist" ideas in a sack, carried away as a political kit from the Rio Conference in 1991, where they were sold to him by Canadian Communist Maurice Strong (the organizer of the conference), who was recycling as old wine in new skins the ecological plank-set from the old Communist Party platform of a few years earlier. They were recast from a supporting argument for totalitarian government and command economies, to the central reason why we must have command economies.

That sounds vaguely familiar. It seems like he isn’t commie enough for them these days, but good information to have (thanks for the reminder!) as an anecdote.
It’s amazing how they can turn on a dime as if their corruption never happened & their hypocrisy doesn’t show.

Florida never really mattered at all when one considers the language of Tennessee, e.g., favorite son, and that one was not able to carry his home state - I think this was the bigger story of 2000 but it was never mentioned; Liberals live in homespun lies of being the most loved, but for Al it Gorier than that!

I wonder how may of those disillusioned greenies realize that their fallen hero is also on the board of Apple Computer?

That must really hurt!
