At least two of these bills (SB-122 and SB-124) do not merely ban the sale, but also the posession of 10+ round magazines or guns made to fire or hold more than one round.

It may sound like nonsense, but without a very vocal opposition this nonsense could pass.

Praise GOD that I don’t have to live in that Yankee cesspool.

God Bless Texas

Remember, it’s only a matter of time b4 they come for you in Texas. What happens up there matters everywhere.

We all have our local cesspool makers, at the State and/or Federal level.

The stupid part of that is, a standard box of 12g. shell is 20 rounds. Even with a single shot and 20 minutes lead time, you still have 20 dead.

Without reading any of these bills......
They are all most likely unconstitutional.
Therefore they are not laws at all.

If about 5,000 CT gun owners would show up next Monday, with their guns. I'm sure the legislators would flee in terror and the Governor would call out the National Guard and you could all just melt into the countryside.

But the message would be sent and received.

Maybe. But it’s not like we’re just a big pool of Northeastern liberals that they haven’t found and tapped yet.

Texans are different. More individuality, more self reliance, less proclivity to hanker after government goodies.

And unlike Connecticut, we don’t “loves us some new yorkers”.

And: BIG F’N DEAL as Delaware yankee Joe Biden would say: WE DON’T HAVE SO DAMN MANY LABOR UNIONS. That right there is pivotal.

So, while I roger your theory, we in the South and (to a lesser extent) in the Heartland and the West ARE fundamentally different from the Northeast. We have not yet sold our souls to Big Government, and we don’t plan to.

So we’ll see how it all shakes out.

Sad, isn’t it?

The NEW firearm centers will be south of the Mason-Dixon line. Bridgeport lathes can be moved on trucks. :-)

Law-abiding Connecticut gun owners are trying to organize a rally at the Capitol in Hartford at high noon on Jan 19th - Gun Aprreciation Day.

PTR Industries is located and manufactures the "most excellent" PTR91 in Bristol, CT.

Nonsense gun legislation in any state is OUR problem, just as illegal immigration and state-level Dream Act suggestions in Texas is OUR problem.

A standard box is 25 shells, which is why skeet, trap and 5 stand rounds are set up in 25s. Your point is well taken, tho.

I'll have a "One Shot" gun when the police, army and secret service have one shot guns.

I remember back about 1969 some egghead professor wanted to ban scopes for rifles as they were used in some political killings in the 1960s.

Magazines today, scopes tomorrow, guns altogether in a couple years.

Their logic will then be that you don't need to hunt or engage in a shooting sport: meat is available in stores and you can now "shoot" targets on Wii.

“Bridgeport lathes can be moved on trucks”

You won’t need many trucks.
There ain’t many lathes in Bridgeport no mo’...

Aside: I expect many of the outrageous-on-their-face gun control proposals to pass here in CT. The reality is that there probably aren’t enough Republicans in the state legislature to stop them, and the ‘rats are going to ignore the will of the state’s residents so that they can “set an example” for the rest of the nation.

Extreme gun control is looking more likely in New York state as well. Even though the Pubbies hold a 2-seat majority in the NY state senate, looks like they’re already caving to the demands of Cuomo and his ‘rats...
