PORTLAND, Ore. — An Oregon sheriff has written Vice President Joe Biden to say his department won’t enforce any new gun laws it considers unconstitutional.

In his letter, Sheriff Tim Mueller of Linn County said politicians are “attempting to exploit the deaths of innocent victims” by supporting laws that would harm law-abiding Americans.

Mueller says he took an oath to support the Constitution, and laws preventing citizens from owning certain semi-automatic firearms and ammunition magazines would violate their rights.

There’s been another shooting, 2 dead, in Lexington college Kentucky.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but this is improbable. How many have there been total now?

If the states are supposedly not allowed to enforce Federal immigration law, then I guess that cant enforce Federal firearms laws either.

Somebody needs to generate a map of U.S. counties showing those whose sheriffs propose to support the Constitution and those who don't.

Linn County, Oregon joins Jackson County, Kentucky in declaring their opposition to further infringements of the right to keep and bear arms.

If States and Counties openly and willfully defy Federal law what will Obama do?

Does he really think the military approves of him? What if he calls in Federal troops and the National Guard and the refuse to come?

What happens then?

There have been a rash of home invasions (robbery, murder, sometimes rape) of elderly white couples by black “yoots” recently, and I don’t see the MSM out screaming about this and making a pattern of it-they do very little reporting of it all, much less trying to tie it into an agenda.

This letter is especially delightful because Linn County is in western Oregon. Western OR and WA tend to be liberal. The eastern halves of the state are conservative and I would expect many of the sheriffs there to not even bother writing a letter, as it would be understood they will not enforce unconstitutional laws.

I’m very familiar with Linn County and Albany, OR. Conservative, hard working people there. And now another reason to like it...Sheriff Mueller!

The salient point is none of the hinted proposals will change one thing that will make anyone safer or deter one mass shooting. The plan with all this hoopla is to get guns out of the hands of any citizens, period. The pols know the end game is coming. They wish to disarm as many of the public as they can because when the SHTF, these guys know they are going to be on the incoming side of the equation. That is why regardless of what Barry says about being unsure this will pass or the NRA saying they are pretty sure not much will pass, the probability of something draconian passing is favorable, I peg it at far better than 50-50.

Whether the law gets over turned or not, anyone who abides by any of these new laws is crazy. My advice is don’t do it. Register your guns or give them up willingly will eventually lead to your becoming one of the victims of a total government take over here...rather than of and by the people, this one will be of and by the politicians and their syncophants. Serfdom is coming for those who don’t resist. All IMHO.
