Group with enormous influence on White House issues specific plans
A progressive group with enormous influence on White House policy has issued specific recommendations to the Obama administration on how to push sweeping gun control, including suggestions for executive orders.
The Center for American Progress released an 11-page proposal, reviewed by WND, calling for a full ban on the sale of assault weapons and magazines with a capacity for more than 10 bullets. CAP suggests legislation to require licensing and transfer restrictions on new and existing assault rifles.
The CAP paper, delivered to the White House last week, recommends that Obama issue executive orders requiring all states to collect more data on prospective gun owners for inclusion in a nationwide database.
Such a presidential edict would withhold funding to any state that does not provide the federal government with the names of all the individuals who are prohibited from owning firearms, including those barred from purchasing guns due to mental illness.
The executive action specifically would penalize states that fail to provide records to the National Instant Criminal Background System, or NICS, which is a point-of-sale system for determining eligibility to purchase a firearm.

And the Center for American Progress is - None other than Bill Clinton. Lock, stock and barrel.
Submission Process
The local, state, tribal, and federal agencies are provided with two modes to add, modify, supplement, or cancel NICS Index entries.
The first mode is an electronic connection between the NICS and the contributing agency using the NCIC-Front End. An agency may use this interface to electronically submit, modify, supplement, cancel, or display a denied persons disqualifying information in the NICS Index. The second mode is batch data transfer on CD, diskette, or by secure e-mail. The NICS Index entries, modifications, supplements, and cancellations are to be processed by the contributing agency since the contributing agency is responsible for the accuracy and validity of the NICS Index information. It is imperative to update the NICS Index as necessary to minimize erroneous denials. The contributing agency is responsible for responding to appeals, assessments, and audits of the submitted records.
In addition to local, state, tribal, and federal agencies voluntarily contributing information to the NICS Index, the NICS Section receives telephone calls from mental health institutions, psychiatrists, police departments, and family members requesting placement of individuals into the NICS Index. Frequently, these are emergency situations and require immediate attention. Any documentation justifying a valid entry into the NICS Index must be available to the originating agencies.
Notice what word is missing from the 'executive order'? And that it intends to PUNISH states which do not comply? Do the words "STATES RIGHTS" ring a bell?
THIS will try to accomplish what he started with Waco and Ruby Ridge.
This nothing less than a national licensing system in which individual citizens have no right to view or amend their own records and in which the qualifying criteria may be tightened without warning at will.
The universal application of the NICS is the top agenda item for Bloomberg and Soros and their ilk because this is the death of firearms freedom for our country.
We have to be succinct.
What a man will do to man's best friend will do worse to people. The recent rash of flippant police dog shootings is just street target practice, something to entertain when they are not out robbing highway travelers.
You might ask yourself why they pop so many of our soldiers full of drugs every damn day. You might ask yourself how many children have needlessly been put on Ritalin or other drugs against their parent’s will. You might ask yourself how many kids are forced into psychological ‘counseling’ for simply being kids.
Soldiers commit violent acts in war. You might ask yourself how long it will take to consider these violent acts too risky to allow these ex soldiers to own firearms.
Then you might ask yourself if any of these executive orders are followed through, how many out of ALL of them will be allowed to own firearms.
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind.
And Holder was in the thick of it all. The Democrats are as genocidal as any muslim. They need to be put down.
How did you get today’s picture?
jug ears and holder had better pack lunches and bring lanterns because we will fight this in court until the day obama leaves office. SO HELP ME GOD!
LLS
This article suggests that a Harry Reid sponsored amendment in Obamacare to "buy" the NRA's silence in opposition prohibits the Fed from creating a national database of firearm owners. True?
TWO more school shootings this morning.
This effectively does just that.
I think Lanza was denied because of a waiting period between purchase and pick up!
I think it prevents the doc from asking..... correct me if I’m wrong; there’s been a ton of threads and someone was talking about that very provision.
Here’s a link to what NY just passed:

Statement from Senator Jim Seward (51st Senate District) NRA A+ rated
ALBANY, 01/14/13 State Senator James L. Seward (R/C/I-Oneonta) today commented on gun control legislation adopted by the senate:
The rights of law abiding citizens who use firearms for sport, protection, and collection have suffered a considerable blow. While the newly minted gun control laws offer some increased penalties for criminal use of guns and take a step toward keeping weapons out of the hands of the mentally ill, they overstep in many ways.
For the first time, New York will be registering rifles and confiscating private property. We will do background checks on the simple purchase of a box of .22 ammo for squirrel hunting or target practice. Someone who puts eight cartridges in his magazine instead of seven will be a felon. Sadly, these extreme, harsh measures wont stop criminals from getting guns and using them for illegal purposes.
These reactionary laws force new, onerous regulations on those who meticulously obey the law and infringe on Second Amendment rights. Further, we cant afford to place good paying jobs at a long-standing employer in my district, Remington Arms, in jeopardy.
Legislation focused on stopping gun crimes and preventing those at risk of harming themselves and others from obtaining firearms would have been a public safety win. However, further impeding the rights of law-abiding citizens does nothing to confront gun violence.

*I’ll thank you all in advance if you would take two minutes and send him a ‘THANK YOU’ email for his tireless support in his battle to preserve our gun rights here in NY.
And additional gun control laws, even unconstitutional ones, will keep guns out of the hands of criminals how? Gee, maybe we should outlaw drunk driving, spousal abuse, meth, heroin, immigrating without permission. All gun control advocates are either ignorant of the facts or they are fascists. There is no middle ground. I will not disarm in the face of criminals nor tyrants.
The 17yh Amendment pretty much did that already. It has just taken effect slowly but inevitably.
