NRA president: Door-to-door gun confiscation a "legitimate fear"
CBS News ^ | January 16, 2013 | Lindsey Boerma

Posted on 01/17/2013 7:54:00 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

The National Rifle Association didn't disagree with everything in President Obama's proposal today to cut back on escalating gun violence, the group's president David Keene told CBS News Senior White House Correspondent Bill Plante today, but with coming talks of reform, he said there are "legitimate" fears on the horizon for law-abiding gun owners.

One of his fears: that a universal background check for anyone purchasing a firearm - the first of Mr. Obama's suggestions today - would lead to a national tracking registry of gun owners. That, in turn, Keene said, could give way to "forced buybacks," or, door-to-door confiscation of specific weapons by the government.

"In other words, 'I have a record that you have a shotgun, and you're going to sell it to the government, or else,'" Keene said. "That's the equivalent of confiscation."

Keene said when others suggest harboring such a concern is simply "being paranoid," "you point to senators and governors who want to do exactly that," he said. "The governor of Illinois said they want to knock on doors and confiscate guns. That's not an irrational fear."

Another point of disagreement was Mr. Obama's call to reinstate and strengthen the assault weapons ban. Keene indicated that a hammer, one of the deadliest weapons in recent years, has been more to blame for rising murder tolls in the United States than semiautomatic weapons...

Every time the White House, Congress, the Media, or any one else mentions “Assault Weapons”, they should immediately be corrected. These are semi-auto “Defense Weapons”, the closest we can get to the Military version to defend our freedom

in 1814 we took a little trip, along with colonel jackson down the mighty mississip- we took al ong soem bacon and we took along some beans, and we coaxed the bloody british in a town called new orleans-

we fired our guns till the barrels melted down, so we grabbed an alligator and fought another round, we filled his head with canon balls and poweder in behind, and when wee lit the pwoeder off he nearly lost his mind-

They ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles, and they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn’t go, they ran so fast that the hounds couldn’t catch them, on tdown hte mississippi to the gulf of mexico

Old somg I remember-

[[move to where you can still live like an american]]

Where? In Brazil maybe? the Amazon? The right to live as a free American was gioven up long long ago here in America in all states- (soem peopel in isolate areas that are practically untouched by modern life still live free- but they are, by law, criminals thanks to many many many intrusive uconstitutional laws beign passed in their state-

but I do know what you mean- move to a state where it isn’t so blue- problem is that more andm ore states are turnign blue- even the red states aren’t strogn red states in soem states nowadays any longer- Hopefully we have a few stronmgly red states like texas that will remain true to the peopel and put citizens first and not government and beurocracy

[[blame gun owners for its inability to deal with the hundreds of gangland murders and shootings ]]

they don’t actually have a problem with thsoe mruders, they simpyl don’t do anythign abotu them- they know who these maggots are, yet they refuse to arrest them for crimes they KNOW these maggots have committed- and hte police spend WAY too much time ‘gatherign intel’ and not nearly enough time arresting known criminals- I’m under the impressio nthat our gov actually lieks the high murder rate because it means less welfare checks, more moeny for gov to spend- and it’s a form of ‘population control’ that the govenrment eanted to enstate for a logn time now (even goign so far as attemptign sterilization of ‘mental people’ i nyears past) and since hte gov can’t get away with population control without the public complaining, they allow gangs to do the job for them- Even goign so far as to supply ASSAULT rifles to them

They truly believe that they are all "internet tough guys" talking trash and that when push comes to shove they will docilely line up and hand in their firearms.

I hate to say this, but I tend to agree. When push comes to shove about 90% of American gun owners, in the face of assault teams coming for their guns, will roll over and show their bellies, hand in their guns and whimper: Ba-a-a-a, please don't hurt me or my family!

Want proof? Look at post Katrina New Orleans when Mayor Nagin announced exactly that -- out and out gun confiscations. Everybody else gasped and we waited for the RAGIN' CAJUNS to open fire. And we waited and we waited and ... nothing. They rolled over and crawled.

Still, remember the numbers. Say, (just for the round numbers) there are 100 MILLION gun owners holding on to an average of 300 million lawfully owned firearms and 90% turn them in. That still leaves 10 MILLION hard core patriots, many of whom will be former military going all the way back to Korea (the WWII vets are almost all gone) and many many with serious combat time under their belts. That's not something you just mop up with the local cops, even their SWAT teams. That's Civil War. Most folks I know with those experiences say it like this: "I came into this world kicking and screaming and covered with blood. I have no problem going out the same way...."

This is the Ross Perot solution to crime and guns, door to door confiscation of Texas guns.

Look, if word gets out that authorities are going door to door to confiscate guns, which it quickly would, a number of scenarios would take place.
(1) gun owners (or non-gun owners) refuse entry to their homes making it incumbent on authorities to break into houses and ransack the place due to an uncooperative i.e. law-abiding citizen.
(2) Authorities are denied entrance and citizens shoot back refusing entry to their domiciles. I would think that would be a legitimate worry to all authorities.
(3)People hide their guns. They might allow entry and search to their homes and when asked about their firearms, simply reply they sold or lost them. I would think this scenario would be the most popular one. "Weapons....I don't have any weapons...I sold them to a passing gypsy last month...or maybe I lost them. Guns...what guns?"

You nailed it. They left is internationalist. The Democrat strategists work one compagn here, then consult for Labor in London, or for Hollandes crew on France. Then it’s over to Israel to conspire with their left.

And one thing they have seen everywhere else, something they KNOW, is that guns will be turned in here when they pass the right law. They KNOW that nobody will resist them with force.

How do they know this? They saw it happen in England, and in Australia. The subjects there did it, and they are sure oot will happen here. They also have the few states that have passed laws here to look to. But they make a bad mistake. Those states are not the hotbeds of conservative culture. Like minded people always could escape to free states.
And Americans are not of the British and aussie mentality that bitches, and protests, then turns them in. They value order, many here still value freedom.

Now they want all the marbles. They want all states to live by their dictates. We are headed straight for a fight, a blind man can see that. Where and when i don’t know, but they will make their move in the next few years. And they will be in for a nasty shock.
The irony is, we all just want to be left alone.

I have serious concerns that SINCE 0bama got away with stealing this election and George Soros has spent tons of $$$ establishing an election theft machine in America, we will not ever see a high-profile ‘Democrat’ lose an election, ever again. No joke. They have a lock on their jobs and they know it. This accounts for their brazen assault on our Constitution. They no longer have to worry about losing their power.

How can an inanimate object be a action verb? It takes people to turn an inanimate object into an action verb!!! ‘Assault’ weapon is a misnomer!
