Expect Obama to Be More Aggressive in His Second Term [We MUST Fight This!]
National Journal ^ | 1/16/13 | Ronald Brownstein

Posted on 01/17/2013 10:50:14 AM PST by SoFloFreeper

...accelerating a process that began during his campaign, Obama since November has confidently picked fights with Republicans—and challenged the most conservative members of his own party—on a broad range of foreign-policy and domestic social issues...

Obama in effect is answering a question that liberal political thinkers have asked since the 1970s: how would the Democratic Party behave if it could diminish its dependence on conservative white voters? His forceful moves on all these controversial fronts represent a calculated gamble that the evolution of the US electorate has reached a critical tipping point. When Bill Clinton moved on some of these same issues, the conservative backlash (particularly over gun control and gays in the military) contributed to the Republican landslide in 1994 that gave the party control of both legislative chambers for the rest of the decade.

Obama is betting that the Democratic coalition will prove more resilient than in Clinton’s day. That’s undeniably true in presidential elections, though it could prove a problem for congressional Democrats—but more on that later.

Valerie Jarrett said in effect that they would have some scores to settle in the second term.

Anyone who sat home on election day because “romney was not conservative” or because they wanted another opposition candidate or because they figured this guy would move to the center more should be deported or shot.

I don’t blame the jerks who voted for this kenyan for his being elected, I blame all those who did not vote for the opposition. For those who fell into that group, you will have my unending contempt.

The article is actually quite interesting. It seems the Dems feel they can now win elections without white voters, and hence feel much more comfortable trying to govern from the Left.

Therefore look for them to throw a lot of red meat to their base on social issues (gun control, gay marriage, pot decriminalization, etc.)

But not necessarily on economic issues. It seems the wealthy Libs in Hollywood and on the Upper East Side who fund this train wreck don’t actually WANT to pay higher taxes after all.

Many of those people posted here over and over that we had nothing to worry about from Obama, and that the "establishment" was trying to scare conservatives into voting for Romney.

This country, demographically, is changing rapidly. Obama does not depend near as much on "moderate" white Democrats for his support. This is why he increasingly feels free to go hard left, because his base of support in minority communities don't give a fig about the constitution.

Why should we expect that? What passes for the American public isn't even what it was 10 years ago. Demographically, things are changing fast. The whole point of the article is that Obama doesn't depend on whites near as much as past Democrats. The minorities that make up his base are not constrained by the constitution, they don't even know or care what's in it.

As of today, Obama has a 55% approval rating per Rasmussen among likely voters. This is after days and days of him demagoging the Sandy Hook shootings for political gain. The public may not yet agree with Obama on many of his more radical left policies, but they seem to love him personally. Why do you assume his approval rating and influence would go down? There is little evidence to support that.

And can we also expect the GOP to be more passive and submissive during Bambi’s second term?

The Romney loss sent the lethargic Establishment a message. We won’t be voting on our knees anymore, held hostage to a socialist running as a R nominee.

In turn, the R Establishment recognizes the tipping point is reached; thus they will be going after the Hispanic vote, the ARP type seniors, the gay/lesbian sympathizers in exchange for dumping us conservatives over, and will generally begin to play ball on the Marxist field, competing with the Democrats as lesser socialists than the Dims.

Regardless that Obama is destroying the Constitution that he swore to defend, I think the reason that patriots haven’t been effective in stopping Obama’s constitutionally indefensible policies is the following. Many patriots evidently don’t know the Constitution themselves, particularly the Founding States division of federal and state government powers, such powers evidenced by the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I, Article V and the 10th Amendment.

So I actually see Obama’s continued trampling of the Constitution as an impetus that will hopefully spur Constitution-ignorant patriots to familiarize themselves with the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers.

E. Pluribus Unum~:” He has more flexibility now.”

Do you mean that he is a contorsionist ?
Then it would be physically appropriate
for him to go F*## himself ?

Even the Russians laugh at us , moreso his “Highness !”
Even the Russians told us not to turn in our guns.
Our friends don’t trust us
Our enemies fear us
And the Russians are just laughing because they have already been where we are going ,
and have become more capitalist .

Let’s face it. Most Omega supporters cannot read, much less understand, the Constitution.

The Establishment has pulled this drift to center Left since Dole. This cycle was simply a bridge too far, making this outcome inevitable. Romney and the RNC had no machinery to even enter a general election campaign, and what they did put together dismantled on election day, faster than Lincoln Logs.

Romney was/is guilty of laying a similar pattern to that of Obama, of overreach in MA. Only fear and desperation brought to him the votes he did garner, from voters held hostages by the Establishment Coronation & Strategies Committee. /s

Conservatives don’t like that feeling, and don’t like being bullied by money and power disguised as Republican.
