Sheesh, with all the grief I’ve had this month with the internet at The Homestead, all I need is to come to work and get this stuff....
Hi UVNV. You know, I had never seriously considered buying a gun, but now I’m doing it. I took the NRA Basic Handgun class yesterday, and my instructor is meeting me at a local range next Thursday for firing qualification. Then I’ll buy a handgun (not sure which one yet). Here in Colorado, registration of guns is prohibited, so there will only be the background check paperwork. We have concealed-carry here, but I’m not doing that, at least not yet. I need the gun for home defense.
Oh, so only white men from the South care about the 2nd Amendment? Well, my class yesterday consisted of two people, both women, neither from the South, and the other lady was black.

You should consider getting your concealed carry license before 0bama makes it harder...doesn’t mean you have to use it.

The only thing that happened in the Biden family on October 2 2006 was news that Beau Biden failed his bar exam 3 times.
The closest golf course to the one-room schoolhouse is the Moccasin Run Golf Club, Chester, PA about 5 miles away. Nice small family run course that opened in 1988. Call them and ask if Biden played there.
I will save you the trouble, they said no. The owner was very friendly and laughed it off. He checked his data base on his computer to be sure (as he was laughing) and sure enough no Biden ever been there. Said he would of remembered that.
He also confirmed he is the closest golf course to the one-room school house and next one would be in quarryville about 10-15 miles away.
You would think Joe “Manti” Biden would of mentioned it before or in his book. But no, now he stands on the graves of Amish children to make a point.
Joe “Manti” Biden never played college football and was not a 1/4 mile away from the schoolhouse shooting. Them are the facts.

(I dimly recall something about Colorado being Open Carry at least Once Upon A Time, but give those fruits & nuts from Boulder/Denver enough slack, and they’ll tie it around your neck.)
As far as chosing a handgun, I’d suggest you find a gunshop associated with a firing range so that you can find something that “fits” you by actually firing the thing.
(My personal pet handgun is a 1911A1, which Grandma could only handle if I put it on a gun carriage, and her .380 Auto absolutely disappears into my hand....)
