After coming to America, the singer found himself living in Los Angeles at 28-years-old. "Drugs had taken my life away from me," Bowie says, "I felt as though I would probably die and it was going to be all over." Bowie credits his assistant, Coco, for getting him out of that life. "Best advice, which I wish I had known at 18? Don't do drugs."

Weed can not only make one not give a s**t about doing anything productive but can cause psychosis in certain individuals.

My younger sister runs an alternative sentencing program for non-violent drug offenders. She says she can almost always tell at what age someone began smoking dope, because their mental development is arrested at that age.

To see a Bowie show is a spectacle! n/s

I recall seeing the Ziggy Stardust show in Hollywood back when the Spiders from Mars were touring. Twice.

If I could pick one decade for a do-over it would be the seventies.

"Bowie is odd but one heck of a theatrical performer."

Boy, is he ever.

I first noticed Bowie when I was perhaps 17 y.o. back around the Ziggy Stardust time perhaps 1972 or 1973.

Truth be told, that was about the time that I was first experimenting with substances and watching late night TV.

His advice to abstain from substances is good. I wish I had.

My life has not been enriched by messing around with drugs and if I could wind back the clock and undo all that craziness I would.

I can't though, and have to accept the consequences.

The horror...

Weed is being more accepted now and on the verge of being legal. That is the #1 screwing up drug there is.

No, "the #1 screwing up drug there is" is the already legal drug alcohol.

because it is legal and many more people use it alcohol appears to causes more problems...when and if grass is legalized you will see similar problems like high driving and psychotic episodes, it is a matter of proportion.

Is that sufficient reason to keep marijuana illegal? If so, is it sufficient reason to make alcohol illegal?

Do you think there's anybody who cares for a puff of weed anywhere in the 50 states, who can't get it already? They deliver faster than Domino's.
