If they want true equality, then I think that every MOS (Military Occupation Specialty) should be maintained at the same proportion as that of the service as a whole.

For example, WM's (Woman Marine) compose around 6% of the USMC. Therefore, they should represent 6% of all those with MOS 0311 (infantry rifleman).

ALL female recruits should be directed to MOS's that are underrepresented until those MOS's consist of a proportional number of females.

Standards must not be modified, current standards are already at minimum requirements in the USMC.

That is what, IMHO, is required to make things 'fair'.

Anyone care to guess what the result of a 'fair' policy would be?

That could be true but very few can.

And those standards will be lowered.

That is exactly what has happened over the last 50 years in every case involving the qualifications of government protected classes.

Just yesterday on FOX News there was a report that the Washington DC school district is going to eliminate subjects like Civics and Social Studies for high school students because the little darlings just don't seem to be able to get passing grades.

There will be massive pressure on Commanders to pass females through training.

The Marines selected two females last year to go through their Infantry Officers Course at Quanico.
These were not hand picked daises, there met all the standards.
Both Failed/Dropped the course.
One wrote an article for Marine Corps Times publication.
Titled “ Get over it , We are not all Equal”.
She related how she suffered more leg cramping,Stress Fractures, loss of leg control,(Knees buckling) dizziness, loss of muscle tissue, and body weight at a faster rate than her male Marines

There is one and only one reason to make changes to the tip of the spear is to add to it's effectiveness. A force multiplier for instance.
This change is about one thing, female promotion possibilities.

This is gonna get people killed, either by guys trying to protect the females, or the lack of abilities on the part of females. Israel found this out the hard way

I know first hand, my son is a infantry platoon leader. It's bad enough that he has female engagement team (FET)attached to his unit.
They don't co-habitate, but live at brigade HQ.They get driven up in a Humvee, prior to the patrol

They try to keep up, but never the less slow his troops down.
He tells me he is afraid of what will happen if they get in to a real s$it slinging firefight.

“If they want to try they should be able to...”

No, they shouldn’t. What happens if she gets pregnant? If a team gets captured, they’ll use the female against the males. You can’t train away human nature. This applies to both sexes.

It’s asking what is not possible. The upper bodies are not designed equally. Even with fit individuals.

Send all the old bag feminists who are pro-women-in-combat to the front lines and see if they’re for women in combat after a few weeks. Don’t let them leave early. Seriously.

It’s a terrible idea. I can understand wanting to do something you shouldn’t be doing even though you want to. they are not geared for this. A lot of guys aren’t geared for it.

I just cant see many women getting through Ranger/BUDS/SF-Q courses.

I hear you, brother. I'll take it a step further and omit the "many" part of your statement. You can take Serena and Venus Williams and any "pro" female Wrestler, drop them into Ranger School circa 1970, and watch an epic FAIL. Don't even stop me laughing when I think about attempting SEAL training for women. They can't pass the standards set for us.

So, logically, the new standards can be passed by 8 year old boys, 60+ year old men, .. and women.

See? Everything is fair now...

No one I know who was in Vietnam recalls being asked if they wanted to do something. BTW, I looked up why women aren’t required to register for Selective Service. This was last looked at in 1994 and the answer was because women are not in front line positions. Well, now they are. Register ladies.

(By the way, I know some very remarkable women who’d easily meet any existing standards...but it’s quotas “they” will be looking for...not qualifications.)

I know some excellent, physically superior women as well. Any of them, when pitted against a 155lb. MMA male in the octagon, would be quickly slaughtered. Any of them, pitted against ANY current, active duty SEAL would be obliterated in any physical test; hand to hand, endurance, weight bearing, swimming.. anything.

Excellent point, a few get pregnant to get out of deployment now. If a female is serious then she should agree to Depo prevera inserts in her arm to prevent pregnancy for five years as a precondition to attend training.

I have two daughters and I do not want them hanging out in the sausage fest that is combat arms a lot of testo not a lot of brains......

I served 32 years in the infantry

Right, lower standards for all, just to make it “fair”.
Obama’s process of reducing the U.S. to minor status is proceeding as planned.

Women were originally taken as active duty military to free up men for combat roles for which women are unsuited or less suited. It made perfectly good sense to have them in supply and administrative positions. The insanity increases.

This is not by accident—its propaganda. If you used TV or movies as your sole belief system (and many people do), then women are flat out TOUGHER than men. Just watch the “Resident Evil” series. I bet you a lot of people watch so much Media they don’t know up from down anymore.
