>>The Sierra Club has announced its approval for a “one-time” use of civil disobedience. <<
I think a “one-time” use of disobedience to laws governing the discharge of weapons may be in order to keep these yahoos fromm blocking this important project.
Well, from personal experience actually Sierra Club does do this, but what they do is form other front “community activist” groups that then go out and do the civil disobedience. But Sierra Club always has plausible deniability, and when it gets into litigation you can never find out who the actual members of these community activist groups are.
These idiots and their “cause celeb” don’t seem to realize that there are already oil pipelines all over the United States.
Sierra Club = Soros ?
another once beneficial organization that has been taken over by extremists who want control rather than conservation.
Just make sure everyone else is Armed and a Member of a Labor Union, then they would have the Blessing of the Supreme Court and Congress to USE VIOLENCE TO FURTHER THEIR CAUSE.
They can break the law...ergo, we can break bones...right?
Just think in’.
Shove them up their own smelly Obamas.
One of the directors on the board of the Sierra Club is “Captain Coco Puffs”, Paul Watson, of Sea Shepherd. That is an eco-terroist organization.
Yeah ! Targets of opportunity !
Any criminal violation of the law should open the Sierra Club to losing any 501C3 or 504 tax-exempt status with the IRS.
If the state(s) where the civil disobedience takes place charges them with criminal trespass, destruction of private property, interference with commerce, etc., then they will loss their tax exempt status upon conviction.
The state(s) might also be able to ban them from operating within their state upon conviction, labelling them a “criminal organization” or a “violent organization.”
A good prosecutor should know what to do. Just the legal fees to defend against such charges would be enormous, and if they lose, all this legal defense money (if funnelled through as tax-exempt), would be taxable.
Bring it on!

The organization was founded by author Bill McKibben an American environmentalist and writer who frequently writes about global warming, alternative energy, and the need for more localised economies. McKibben promotes the organisation, for instance by writing articles about it for many major newspapers and media, such as the Los Angeles Times and The Guardian.
In 2011 and 2012 he led the massive environmental fight against the proposed Keystone XL pipeline project and spent three days in jail in Washington D.C. as leader of one of the largest civil disobedience actions in America for decades.
