Biden: Putting armed guards in schools would be a “terrible mistake”

Vice President Joe Biden figuratively slapped the National Rifle Association in the face on Thursday, indirectly slamming its suggestion to put armed guards in every school in the nation.

“We are not calling for armed guards in schools…we think that would be a terrible mistake,” the VP said during a PBS “Fireside Hangout” on Thursday.

“The last thing we need to do is be arming school teachers and administrators,” he added.

The Vice President did talk about allowing schools to hire more mental health professionals and ‘resource officers.’ Biden said the current proposal — some $40 million for schools to hire these individuals — will not fully cover the cost of implementing these strategies nationwide, but it is a “way to begin the process.”

Biden’s backhanded insult came just minutes before he mentioned that he had met with the NRA during his gun safety task force meetings earlier this month.

But Biden’s position on armed guards isn’t one the administration has been pushing. During an interview with David Gregory on “Meet the Press,” Obama said he was “skeptical” of putting armed guards in schools, but refused to rule it out. And the federal government used to pay for a program to put armed guards in schools, something that Obama discontinued in 2012.

During the live chat, Biden also contradicted a questioner who asked about “gun control.”

“I don’t view it as gun control,” he said. “I view it as gun safety.”

The Vice President also mentioned he doesn’t care what semi-automatic weapons are called.

“I’m much less concerned quite frankly about what you call an assault weapon than I am about magazines and the number of rounds that can be held in a magazine,” he said.

"It might come in handy to have these super locks," Obama joked at Master Lock in Wisconsin, noting that he will soon have two teenage daughters. "For now, I'm just counting on the fact that when they go to school there are men with guns with them."

Our local Home Depot in San Diego now has an armed guard outside.
Anybody else see them in other places?

OK, they say they’re doing this “for the children” yet their policies kill about 4,000 children a day. They claim a constitutional right to abortion, even though they had to make up a bunch of nonsense about a “penumbral right of privacy” since there is nothing in the Constitution about a right to kill people, but a great deal specifically written safeguarding the fundamental right to life.

So, then they say that in order to protect the children they can infringe upon a God-given right to the free citizens of the United States, recognized specifically by the 2nd Amendment.
If the impetus for all this emotion-laden twaddle is Sandy Hook, then the solution is armed guards in school ... but they say that armed guards are a bad idea in public schools, but not in their childrens’ schools.

Surely there is no other explanation possible: Biden, Feinstein and their ilk are cuckoo for cocoa puffs. They are insane. But they are Democrats, I repeat myself and, I know: Don’t call you Shirley.

Yes Joe that would be terrible.
Our children might live in fear thinking they lived in a police state.

That would be far worse than stripping the masses of 2nd amendment rights. /s

So will we be restricting mag capacity for the jackboots Joe?

Biden: Putting armed guards in schools would be a “terrible mistake”

In D.C., perhaps. In rural Texas, no.

So Why aren’t any of our elected officials doing that?

I feel like we are being sold down the river.

“Biden defines the baseline from which all IQ is measured.”

And the baseline is: 70 - 79 - Borderline deficiency in intelligence

Putting BiteMe back in as Vice President - is actually more retarded than voting the Kenyan back in.

But that’s America.

On pie.

““The last thing we need to do is be arming school teachers and administrators,””

Because teachers and administrators will transform into psychopathic killers if they contact firearms?

The liberal has plenty of ideas of want he wants us to do, or not, but no reasons to speak of.

Of course Joe doesn't want armed guards at the schools - because it would work. They can't have that. They - they being those that advocate gun control for the controlling aspects of it - want and need more school carnage. Only through additional school attacks can they generate the kind of ill-considered emotional knee-jerk response they need to take away our vital freedoms.

Just look at NY's gun control law. Rushed through with such fanfare and haste that they forgot the obvious component of exempting law enforcement - thus making most weapons and magazines possessed by law enforcement illegal too. oops. this is just an indication of the headlong rush they are in to get these laws through before people stop and think.

Joe knows armed guards in the schools would end the attacks. Joe know that just about no other measure they can take will end school attacks. It is that simple people. Usually when it seems there is only one option that's a clue you haven't looked hard enough. But for the life of me, after several weeks I don't see any other way of stopping school attacks.

Consider these simple facts. One - there will always be firearms in America. Always. The gun grabbers, fascists, and idealistic dreamers can do whatever they want but there will always be firearms in America. Even if they get their ultimate wet-dream and outlaw all firearms, criminals will still have whatever they want in terms of firepower. Consider, Prohibition - failure. War on drugs - failure. Drunk driving - failure. etc. etc. People willing to circumvent the law (ie. criminals) will always have access to whatever they want.

Two - there will always be evil and insanity in America. There will always be those individuals who for whatever reason, whatever voices in their heads, demons, pathology, etc. feel they need to get attention even at the expense of others' lives... They will exist.

Given these two irrefutable facts, there will be another school attack. The notion that a school can put up a sign and declare itself a gun free zone is utter idiocy, bordering on the criminally negligent when it comes to safety. School attacks end one of two ways. The whack-job accomplishes everything he/she wants and flees, surrenders, or commits suicide. Or the whack-job is stopped by being threatened, incapacitated, or killed. Option one is as bad as it gets. It means they have achieved the maximum amount of carnage. Option two requires someone with the firepower to make it happen being on site.

The only way to stop them and prevent maximum carnage is to put an armed presence there to stop them. The question then becomes how long does it take. Police response times are generally a few minutes, maybe 5 minutes on the low side, upwards of 20 on the high side. That is far too long. Firing 200+ rounds into 20+ kids and staff requires six magazine changes with 30 round mags. It requires an extra 3 magazine changes with 10 round mags. That's maybe 15 seconds. When law enforcement is 20 min away - big whoopdie fk...

So gee, Joe, your bans of firearms won't work, your bans of certain arbitrary features won't work. Only thing that would seem to work is having armed personnel on-site to reduce reaction time. Hmm, sounds like armed guards at the schools. Here's an added benefit - deterrence. Once the whack-jobs realize they aren't going to find a hunting preserve full of defenseless victims at schools guess what - they won't come there and attack where they know they will be almost immediately thwarted. How many people try mass shootings at a gun range. How many armed robberies are perpetrated at firearms stores... Not too da*n many because they just don't work.

So Joe, if you're serious about the safety of our children, you and everyone else with an IQ greater than room temperature has to realize armed guards are *the* answer. If you just want to continue to use our children as expendable pawns in your pursuit of a political agenda and power, F**K YOU you POS.

Love, for liberals, is a blobby, fuzzy, toasty thing—with no toughness or responsibility. Poor lil darlins, don’t want them to see those nasty things or even know they’re around. Might traumatize them. Keep it all sweetness and flowers.

These are two entirely different things, lamebrain. Just like a Democrat--always molesting the language to confuse everyone.
