Two teen girls were cuffed after they attacked a man on the subway in Brooklyn, authorities said.
Chantelif Solano, 18, and Shaquana Rhem, 17, began arguing with Charles Bunn, 55, on a northbound 3 train at the Utica Avenue subway station at 1 p.m. yesterday, police sources said.
They allegedly began hitting him in the face

With the ‘rash of crimes’ ending up on the ‘social networks’ with the attackers occasionally manning the camera phone, maybe it is time to stop including cameras on cell phones.
ESPECIALLY on the give aways....
Give ‘them’ (the supposed needy) a simple phone, with automatic 911 set in, with maybe a few IMPORTANT #’s (who to call when arrested etc) and let it go at that.
Even give them 60 minutes a month..
Those phone could probably be mass produced for virtually nothing and the important part of the program will be met.

Another dark-skinned (taller) man separates the three — essentially stopping him from going after the two girls in earnest.

Either way, I don't read enough of news to remember seeing that in anything other than a Wayans brothers skit or something along those lines and then to toss in a Chantelif to the article just screams Onion. I guess i need a face-palm for not "keeping up?"

You freepers are being too hard on Chantelif and Shaquana. Didn’t you watch the video? Mr. Dunn clearly disrespected them by being white in their neighborhood. I also understand that in one time in history members of Mr. Dunn’s race held slaves. Now Mr. Dunn has upset their plans to turn their life around with his insensitive race. He should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of Eric Holders law.
Went to college with a black man named Michael. He was “blue black,” as in he was so black he looked blue. Beautiful skin and the most down-to-earth person I’ve ever met. He was SO happy to be living in America. He was from Botswana.
Mr. Dunn appears to be African American himself.

It’s practically epic how much blacks are on the phone. A former co-worker, 40+ years my senior, used to comment, “Who the Hell could they be talking to? Who is THAT important that they have to be on the phone with them ALL the time?”
I knew a black woman who worked in a call center who would literally get out of the car with her sister, grab her phone, and they would continue their conversation as she walked into the office and her sister drove away.
Never in my life.

Being older, he probably expressed some dissatisfaction with the girls’ behavior in some way that they took offense to.

This wasn't a race-thing, this was a disrespect between the youth of today for the older generation. Not only is there no respect, there is pure disdain, race notwithstanding. I'm not young, but I still show respect for the older folks, black/white/whatever. I was happy to see him hold his own against 2 younger punks, and he was smart to not turn his back on them until they left. It seemed they still tried to get in a parting shot as they left the car...
All I can think of is whatever price he offered them was insulting.
Whoever wrote the headline should be smacked for calling a 55 year old guy “an older man”. WTH

Fine. I really don’t care what they do with something they EARNED themselves other than spit out rug rats and draw welfare.
If we MUST give them a phone, make it bareboned, some ridiculous color and very little in the way of amneties.
You don’t make people less dependent on others if you give them more than what the individual providers can afford or keep up.
Why work when Unka Sugah gives you a bounty on what your loins produce, food stamps, rent subsidies, free phone, next will be free car - and since THEY destroyed (not really) the older, serviceable cars, when we give THEM a new car it will have to be big enough to haul the brood around in.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other. No history, and somebody made it up. In the original, "invented name" is in a different font or something, and I took it as indicating the name doesn't have any (historical) meaning or significance. Sort of like "Esso" or "Exxon," just made up.
"Chantelif" doesn't even get a babynames entry ;-)
