Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America Indoctrination

Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America Indoctrination

This video is 2 minutes 43 seconds. The title is self-explanatory. Our nation's children are not attending religiously neutral schools. They are forced to attend (and taxpayers are under police threat to fund) government owned and run ATHEIST schools.

Government owned and run, socialist-entitlement, single-payer K-12 schools have never been, and are not now, religiously, politically, or culturally neutral.

Please remember that it is ***impossible** to live in a philosophic state of religious neutrality. All humans must choose between either a godless or God-centered worldview. All schools must choose one of these religiously non-neutral worldviews in which to develop their curriculum and school policies. Government schools, must as well.

Conservatives! PLEASE WAKE UP!

Government school indoctrination threatens our nation's freedom. Organize with others. Work to shut down the government owned and run socialist-entitlement, single-payer, and godless schools. Let's begin the process of privatizing K-12 education in this nation. Work toward complete separation of school and state.

I have wondered if some ( most) are actually professionals who are paid to do this.

Paranoid much?

As to my personal little cadre of stalkers....well?....I see that as a badge of honor.

That's an amazingly narcissistic rationale for the fact that not everyone agrees with your broad-brush generalization crap.

Now, tell me again how my kids are Godless commie faggot drones.

Freakin' smacktard zealot.

Link to the comment where Wintertime called your children "Godless commie faggot drones", if you please. I've been hearing this accusation for quite some time, and can't find Wintertime's post vilifying your children.

Is there such a post?

See “generalization” and “broad brush”.

By portraying ALL kids who attended public schools as
Godless commie faggot drones, that pretty well covers mine and many others.

Her intent and message be damned, I’m sick of the slander against my kids.

Wintertime is as often as not full of crap.

Tearing down the offspring of others while lionizing her own
is obviously some form of compensation and folks get sick of it.

If Wintertime said all public schooled kids are Godless commie faggot drones (Link please?) that would be wrong. But if Wintertime said that public schools promote Godlessness, socialism, and LGBT values, then that would be right.

Sure, some schools are better than others, and some teachers are better than others. And a lot depends on where you live. In Texas you may not have to worry so much, in Illinois, I'll bet you would be more concerned. Now whether thats due to the moral climate, or the power of local unions, or whether the two go together, I'll let smarter minds discuss.

Wintertime is as often as not full of crap.

I think Wintertime is to public schools like Elsie is to the LDS...they both go overboard in their delivery but actually catching them in the wrong is another thing.

Anyway, if she (now that I know she's a "she") actually called any or all kids Godless commie etc., then I join you in reprobating her. But I haven't found it.

How about asking wintertime to cite sources. Several threads ago wintertime made the claim that Colleges prefer home-schooled students. Hope for the Republic made egregious error of requesting a source. Wintertime immediately labeled him a public school defender.

All three of hope's children went to school on Military bases and He lectured at West Point. Not exactly bastions of liberalism.

Regardless of the political, cultural, or religious topic:

I believe the goal of the disruptors ( regardless of the topic) is to fill the threads with so much personal nonsense that other Freepers are discouraged from searching through the junk just to find those posts that actually cover the topic.

How about catching him/ her in lies. Over the years the changes in stories have been mind boggling.

At first the oldest son was taken out of school in high school after instigating a fight by making racist comments to an African-American student. Then the other children were taken out when they got to high school. Next it was they were in an out depending on wintertime's globe trotting. Now it is either second or third grade when they were all taken out.

My personal favorite was the fact that one of his/her sons was offered an executive position with some bank while in tenth grade. This same son was also a mathalete but has somehow been unable to pass his CPA exam.

Moving on to politics. the first time wintertime told the story about the Catholic school voters, it was his/ her daughter-in-law that voted, along with the rest of the faculty, for Obozo. Now it is his/ her daughter, and this was the only person in the ENTIRE faculty that did not vote for Obozo.

Give me a break

Would this include the thread where you had more comments pulled by the mods than were left?

BTW you need to run your posts through spell check more thoroughly.

Verga is right - it can get quite ugly. At this point there have been YEARS of accusations back and forth from many people. Very few have ‘clean hands’ in how we have treated each other.

However, I know I have never made comments towards other posters that have been made towards me - and yes I do mean specifically, my name, me personally, in addition to the general, broad brush comments.

Even when I try to be kind, it backfires. Whatever. Life goes on here in VA just the same.

Peace

What disruptors? Have you altered the meaning of the word to include "anyone who either disagrees with you or your tone"?

Name some names, since you're such the activist against other people's kids.

What disruptors? The ones tired of your lies or the ones tired of your slandering kids that you don't know?

Which?

From Skousen's 'The Naked Communist'...

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

Some prefer 'normalcy bias'...

Verga is correct, I asked wintertime to cite a source, he refused to answer other than to call me a public school defender.

As to your "cute" picture, you are aware that Verga is a male. I don't know him, but I do know his former CO, and he spoke highly of him.

SoftballMominVA:

You and I used to fight here until the occasion arose for us to have civil discussion which allowed me to discover some of your numerous virtues and, I had thought, that you are supportive of the sort of private education in which my wife is involved. I have also thought that you and I have achieved a mutually respectful and friendly FR relationship. I don't really think that has changed between you and me. Certainly not on my side.

I have fought with verga here and really don't expect that to change.

The difference is that verga wants to draft kids from families hostile to most public schools into the public schools and thereby force anti-public school parents to waste their time in never-ending and utterly fruitless ideological wrestling matches with leftist teachers' unions, administrators and school board members who deal from a stacked deck. All people like me want is to be left alone by the cheerleaders for P.S. 666 (that does NOT mean you or your school) and (preferably) not to be taxed to support the handiwork of Horace Mann and John Dewey.

I have little doubt that you personally are an exception to my general attitude as to public school teachers and that your school and/or board of education may be an exception as well. Just as I have conceded the same as to Marcella and the Texas public schools with which she has been associated.

OTOH, it ought not be expected that parents who have homeschooled and/or parents who have been involved in independent private religious schools are EVER likely to give a pass to public schools generally. Many of us very much resent what most public schools have come to represent and the fact that we are FORCED to fund them. In Connecticut, my original home state, and in my very rural part of Illinois (never mind Chicago), they do a very poor job for an excruciatingly high price.

The State of Illinois is sagging well below sea level from the weight of public employee pensions that are largely unfunded but generous beyond the dreams of avarice. Chicago public school teachers are now making $75,000 per year after their latest strike. At least Chicago (for reasons I fail to understand), unlike every other municipality must bear the entire pension burden that it has dished out to the public employees generally who, together with the welfare army, are the base of the infamous Chicago Machine.

One example of the craziness in Chicago was the discovery that a public works (garbage collectors) union official had retired and was triple dipping. He had been a full time union official who had not seen a garbage can or dumpster that he had to work on personally for many years. His job for the union entailed schmoozing politicos. He retired from the union with a verrrry generous pension. He also received a pension from the public works department of Chicago reflecting his forty years as a technical "employee," which was by definition ridiculously generous. Finally, he took advantage of a quirk in a state law provided by the corrupt idiots in the state capitol to work ONE DAY as a substitute teacher in the Chicago Public School system and that qualified him for a third pension as though he had taught there for forty years instead of a mere one day. Virginia is probably sensible enough not to allow such taxpayer abuse. The Soviet Union was probably more responsible than Chicago. Source Don Wade and Roma (morning show on WLS radio AM 890 Chicago). They recently retired because Don developed an apparently malignant brain tumor.

Illinois has just again had its credit rating downgraded because of the absolute refusal of the Demonrats in the State Capitol to do ANYTHING to rein in these public employee pensions. An argument is reasonably made that pensions in place and maybe even the negotiated pensions of the existing employees are constitutionally sacrosanct since government is not allowed to tamper with existing contract rights. The Demonrats will not even consider establishing a new and lesser compensated tier of newly hired employees who must accept lesser pensions as a condition of being hired.

We have suffered the last year or two of Dubya's Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson draining the general public during a recession to comfort the big Manhattan bankers and corporate corruptocrats lest their disastrous decisions that threatened to bankrupt such firms as Goldman Sachs might interrupt their annual 6 or even 7 figure "bonuses" or the luxuries of their lifestyles. We have suffered four more years of Obozo and his never-ending farming of the public to soften the cushions of government employees including teachers at the expense of having no economic recovery and by draining the private sector and our descendants. Meanwhile the employees are farmed by the unions to lavishly fund the Demonratic Party and its campaigns.

I certainly hope that you do not believe that your kindness toward me has "backfired." Verga is an entirely different story. Wintertime and I have our differences over matters of faith but I often rise to her defense because she is usually first to arrive on these threads, because I find her relation of her experiences with homeschooling quite credible and because she is often targeted in ways that amount to bullying (not by you).

Anything that I ever say here about public education is now and for some time past, never directed at you. If, previous to discovering your virtues and credibility, I was unkind or unfair to you and failed to apologize, I certainly now apologize because such remarks must have been objectively wrong and morally unacceptable. I have also found your posts as to your experiences quite credible and often persuasive in a subject area in which I am not easy to persuade.

In any event, may God continue to bless you and yours, including the students you strive so hard to serve.

This is an out right lie.

I have no preference as to where children go to school. I want them to have the best education possible, whether it is public school, Home school, charter school, or what have you.

What I am sick of is the out right lies and distortions by the extreme members of the home schooling crowd.

You all have sat on these threads whining that public schools can't be fixed and that is why you are walking away.

Great your choice, but do you oppose abortion? Do you participate in or support the "March for life" movement? If so why? Legalized abortion is the law, for 40 years now it has been legal. Yet there are thousands of people that got off their butts to make a difference.

How about the second amendment, do you support the people right to bear arms? Why Obozo, Feinstien, Biden etc, are in the midst of tearing that down? They are halfway there, yet thousands of people have joined the NRA.

There is no difference just the name of the movement. As I said the left was able to change the system to their advantage, and sitting out of the game allows them to keep that advantage.

Not a thing has changed on how I view you and the work you and your wife do. I admire you both.

As far as Verga goes...he has more of a sharped tongue than I have, however, he is not anti-home schooling at all. He is, like I am, a bit tired of the broad-brushing from certain people in the home school movement. I get it, I know that nosy neighbors, acquaintances, and just right out bitches have said many barbed things to home schoolers, but those people are in the minority here.

Do I take comments such as “all public school teachers are either useful idiots, evil, or just stupid” personally? Yeah, a little I do. Should I? Probably not. But that's my issue, not yours. Have I 100% of the time conducted myself in a Christian manner online? Can't say that I have. My temper has gotten the best of me at times, but I try my FRiend, I do try to be reasonable and to listen and to never, ever make a "one size fits all statement."

it's actually a very sad situation. I would LOVE to have conversations with people who home school their children, especially those who work with children with disabilities, but I have made no efforts publically to connect with anyone. There are things I would love to know. I will say I have sent, and answered, numerous private messages about teaching techniques, testing, curricula, books, etc, but not in public. You and I both know that any post asking any kind of question would be ridiculed and just waste band-width. However, my mailbox is always open and I answer honest questions sincerely.

The members I pinged are good people that regularly get raked over the coals about public schools, YET they will and do stand up for homeschooling on posts. We all know that home schooling is the BEST choice for many, many kids. We also know that public schools are necessary and the BEST place for many others. In perfect world, there would be a way that we could learn from each other. Until that time, I read comments from those I trust carefully, and try my best to ignore the others.

peace....

Just a comment on this.... I'm not positive our school board is that much of an exception, but I will say this, my principal leaves me alone. Completely. My record speaks for itself. I get 6th graders reading at 1st/2nd grade level; I exit out 8th graders reading at grade level, or in truly wonderful cases, beyond. I deeply, deeply LOVE my students, and recognize I am only borrowing them for 3 years and that I have a responsibility to do what I am paid to do - teach - no whining about my salary, or hours, or conditions. I teach.

Next year, we will have a new principal. If he/she wants to interfere, then I'll be making a change. I won't stay where I can't control my classroom. It could be an interesting transition. But for now, I'm trusting that God knows the best place for me, and as always is in charge.

As a matter of fact, I am a pro-lifer and, before retiring, I was an attorney. I represented 1100 arrested pro-lifers who went into the killing rooms of the abortion mills, often breaking raw eggs into the suction machines which put the machines and the mills out of business for as much as two weeks for engineers to break the contaminated machines down and remove and replace the contaminated parts. All but a few of the pro-lifers were charged with felonies (usually burglary or resisting arrest) and none were convicted of any felonies.

A grand total of 30 or thereabouts were convicted of ANYTHING and all but a handful were convicted of the legal equivalent of a parking ticket. Of those convicted, about 8 at most were convicted of misdemeanor trespass and some of those served no more than ten days in a country club jail without locks on the gates or anywhere else that would interfere with their freedom---essentially they were sentenced to ten days receiving room and board and recreation on a decent vacation in a nice place at taxpayer expense. One guy pleaded guilty to a minor charge so he could pay the fine and frame the receipt for his living room wall to prove to his many grandchildren that he had been arrested saving babies. Generally, they refused to sign probation papers, pay "conviction fees," or pay any fines imposed. The statutory alternative was to work off fines at $10 per day in jail but the state found them to be very troublesome prisoners when incarcerated pre-trial for refusing to identify themselves or to cooperate with photographing and fingerprinting.

I charged no fees for the legal work and cost the state an absolute fortune. As a result of that and the absolute militancy of the pro-lifers, most charges were dumped altogether by the prosecutors and some were dismissed "in the interest of justice" by some usually tough judges.

As to guns, I never belonged to the NRA but I did volunteer for sharply reduced legal fee legal work for several NRA members, obtaining permits to carry for state residents and representing out of state members arrested in my state.

By analogy, what have YOU done to abolish gummint skewels??? They are a waste of time generally for a conscientious parent who cares about curriculum, morality, content, etc., and understands that his/her own children are his/her primary responsibility. School board meetings, public hearings, phony "experts", people often devoid of any grasp of substantive subject matter in their "educations," but having attained that most useless of academic credentials---a "teaching" degree, bachelor's, master's or doctorate in "Education." The nuns I had in a parochial grammar school (with one exception) had nothing beyond a high school diploma and we were two years ahead of the public school kids when that city was still civilized and its school superintendent was a woman of genuine academic talent, dedication and attainment unlike each and every successor since her retirement in 1960.

As to the "whys of my involvement," Roe vs. Wade will be overturned just as were Plessy vs. Ferguson and Dred Scott vs. Sandford, the 2nd Amendment will survive and be enforced and the gummint skewels will be generally abolished.

One more: Brick and mortar higher edumakashun has priced itself out of future existence. Kids are graduating with degrees in political correctness, political anthropology, world geography, sociology and, yes, "education" virtually devoid of useful skills, often unemployable and with $200,000 or more in non-bankruptable college loans just to get to what has increasingly become a useless bachelor's degree. It cost me in the late 1960s, $1,000 per year to attend a private college that you have herd of, and $600 per year to attend the state law school (the only public school I ever attended for credit rather than recreation (astronomy and typing when I was too young for my factory-worker parents to leave unsupervised and too old for summer camp. My youngest is attending a rival private college (because it is very good at her very practical major) at a cost of $40,000+ per year.

My public school educated wife (who then graduated Yale with a liberal arts degree) and I decided before the birth of our very first child that she would not be put in public schools. She was an inmate at the local and very rural public high school because she insisted and had burned a number of alternatives. When she wanted to attend the public high school with "her friends," we told her that it was her call BUT it would be for BOTH of the remaining years of high school and there would be no more transferring. She did not have a happy experience. We went to every parent-teacher conference, oversaw her homework, attended school functions and and, except for one English teacher, one guidance counselor and one sports coach, we found that school a waste of time and her talent. Fortunately she had developed the habit of being a voracious reader long before getting to that school. If the school had not existed, we would have kept her on a shorter leash as to burning the alternatives. The other kids never darkened the door of the public schools anywhere.

The simple and preferable cause in most jurisdictions is defund them and abolish them in favor of various alternatives in the private sector not infected by the schemes of Horace Mann and John Dewey or controlled by the financially and ideologically rapacious National Education Association and/or American Federation of Teachers.

I have no idea of whether you belong to one of those unions. If you do, then go as a visitor to a national convention of your union. I have done that with each of them in the mid-1970s. Wander through the exhibit hall where vendors are pushing their "educational" wares to the delegates. See the radicalism that pervades each and every table: Curriculum units on the fate of Chilean gay communists who "disappeared" during the Pinochet restoration of Chilean civilization; racism, sexism, "homophobia," and every perverted left-wing cause known to man or beast. If your shop steward is not jamming your mailbox with this crud, it is such "curricula" that are being offered to your national delegates.

AND since you asked what I do as to pro-life and guns, and since you equate those issues with gummint skeweling, I would also ask whether you have taken advantage of the Beck decision of the SCOTUS that guarantees your right to refuse to pay your union so much of your union dues as goes to politics. If not, why not??? You know the evil they do with the political portion of the dues.
