Two senators at the center of negotiations over comprehensive immigration reform, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) said on Sunday that a pathway to citizenship is an essential component of a comprehensive reform bill.
“That has to be also part of it,” McCain told ABC News’ Martha Raddatz on “This Week” when asked whether a pathway to citizenship would be a component of reform. “There’s a new appreciation on both sides of the aisle including, maybe more importantly on the Republican side of the aisle, that we have to enact comprehensive immigration reform.”

The “Republican” side of this bipartisan committee is represented by McCain, Graham, and Flake - all long time supporters of amnesty.
Remember, it was the McCain-Kennedy Amnesty Act of 2007 (with support from see-you-at-the-signing Bush and Rove)
that turned people against the Republican Establishment and caused millions of 2004 Bush voters to stay home in 2008.
I’m afraid that our RINO Senate is now truly lost lost now. They are going to appease and cop out. I will not vote for either of my Georgia Senators again - EVER, whom I’m sure will go along with this. These country club SOBs can rot where they belong.
The 30 million illegals are low income people, working for unreported cash, sucking off taxpayer-provided freebies. If citizens, they will continue to be low income by and large, bring in large entended families to suck on the public taxpayer nipple and of course, vote Dem to keep the freebies coming.

I wish someone would just talk to some of these illegals. They DON’T WANT to be citizens. They just want to come in here, make a little money while they collect some government freebies, and then go home and live well. It only takes about 5 or 6 years to do that for a Mexican.
Want to solve the problem? Cut out the aid programs, and clamp down on businesses who hire them, and they’ll be back in their home countries by the end of the month.

And I wish somebody would talk to the legals. Every poll of legal citizen Latinos has resulted in almost 2-to-1 disapproval of any kind of amnesty for illegals.
And why not? These people were, after all, born American -- their families having been here for hundreds of years -- or they earned their citizenship the right way. By working for it.
If the GOP yearns to earn legal Hispanic votes, they will stand against amnesty for illegals.

This is anti-rule of law, it shifts the nation toward one-party rule at the federal level, it encourages increased illegal entry, it reduces public confidence in government and law, it puts downward pressure on wages, it increases crime because the illegal underground railroad is a good place for criminals to hide and travel and it creates business opportunities for those who operate in document falsification and border violation, it burdens health care and education systems, it strengthens the underground economy and lowers tax revenues, it brings health and social problems from other nations to the US, it populates the US with people who have not been educated in American culture, history, or citizenship, it boosts the voter rolls for anti-American politicians.

I recently spoke with a Repub appointee who believed that the illegals were “natural Republicans”—that kind of flawed belief will be fatal to the Repub party. If there was no downside risk, then such beliefs would be merely laughable, but the downside risk here is extreme and the upside potential for the Repub party appears non-existent.
Just wondering — can they all have dual-citizenship?

GOP problem with illegal immigration have no one to blame but themselves. We were too busy taking on the Dems we forgot the traitor within the ranks, it was corporate America and Chamber of Commerce. Who do you think was hiring them until 9/11 wrecked that scheme and smashing the ones who were concern with smears of xenophobic, racism and isolationism. Wake up conservatives, corporate America is equally the enemy of personal liberty and national sovereignty. They will sell both out for a smooth transition to profits. I think we have hit the tipping point and the Hispanics won. Reality is the conservatives will have to figure on how to survive in this new political reality where Hispanics have become the new kingmakers in the US. Good news is in this new status there is a fight who will be the dominant group in a coalition of color folks. Blacks and Hispanics are fighting everyday in Los Angles and soon the state of CA as whites will no longer be the dominant ethnic group. Hispanics will take over CA, and blacks will be the first target by the new dominant group. I would like to see what happens to Obamacare costs as another 13 to 20 million unanticipated US citizens hit the rolls as they get amnesty, become US anchors for their extended families. The sad part is these new poor immigrants think the gringos (middle class) have so much they can afford to share a little to the poor via taxes. Guarantee the Catholic Church will be in the act along with the liberal whites. US is heading for more turmoil. My recommendation is take care of your family and children first, especially the children. Armed them with education, good skills and financial acumen to survive, prosper in a society of low information voters. Learn how the super rich liberals survive with their wealth intact.
