My suggestion for Rubio is to take a few aspirins, get a good night rest, and accept that nothing can stop King Obama.

It was foolish of me to think that Rubio was smart enough to know you can’t negotiate with slimy bastards.

Goodbye, Rubio.

We still haven't closed or controlled the border since it was promised to Reagan. We didn't build McCain's damned fence.

Build the fence first, control the border and then we negotiate. Obama doesn't need to negotiate, as the folks crossing the border get to vote anyway. He doesn't care if they become citizens, just if they become voters. Leave the border open long enough, import enough socialists from Mexico, and it all becomes moot.

And no more H1Bs. We've got plenty, and we've got plenty of unemployed college students who are smart enough but got into the wrong major. Let's fix that by allowing bankruptcy to clear student loans, and putting the school at risk for part of any such failed loans.

Rubio needs to go back and ask his parents about their own immigration to the U.S., i.e. what they had to go through, what laws they were forced to obey, etc. before he tells us that illegal aliens need his version of the U.S. Constitution!

My suggestion to Rubio, either go home to Cuba with your family or learn to become a genuine citizen not one attempting to "get along with liberals" as we conservatives don't need you as our voice on all things regarding border security, law abiding citizens, immigration laws and law breakers!

Obama and the democrats want more illegals to enter because they become wards of the state and therefore future Democrats. Just like they have done to blacks, who vote democrat 95% of the time. End of story.

Until people like Rubio accuse the president and democrats of this, it’s 1986 all over again. Forever.

The democrats couldn’t get Americans to vote for their agenda, so they are replacing Americans with foreigners.

Rubio is a smart guy, and so far I am fairly comfortable with his plan. My only problem is exactly what some say here...the Democrats/DC establishment do not work in good faith, and either border defense will be ignored, EO’s will fast track the citizenship path or just ignore any requirements, or something along those lines. Obama has proven he will undo legislation at will with executive action, and no one seems to act against it.

My guess is Rubio is playing the long game here, taking a lead, and then letting the Dems step in it, allowing himself to be in a position to champion the popular position down the road. He’s saying the right things, and laying out the best compromise position for our side. As I have felt throughout this whole discussion, Rubio will either make himself a President or destroy his chances through this process.

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., one of four Republican senators involved in a bipartisan effort to craft immigration reform legislation, warned the president Tuesday against taking such a position. It was the first sign since the senators unveiled their guidelines a day earlier of friction between the two efforts.

I'll bet this idiot thinks that if Barky had agreed to such terms he would actually abide by the deal and implement the provisions. IOW, the real reason he is in such a pique is because Zero wouldn't cover his backside (as pointed at the people who elected him).

And just how in the world is Senator Rubio going to prove the border is secure?!?! That’s what I want to know. Didn’t McCain promise the same thing when he was running? I think he planned to write the law so amnesty couldn’t happen until the president (or someone in the executive branch as I recall) certified the border was secure. That should take Obama all of 1 minute.

What a joke! Senator Rubio, you’re a joke, too!

Rubio is woefully naive if he thinks either Obama’s or his/Senate’s/House’s version is going to actually contain real border security.

If that were going to happen, they could have done it with existing legislation. The laws exist. They are not enforced now.

What makes Rubio think border will be enforced under these new laws? It won’t be. Yeah, there may be some initial song-and-dancing, but it won’t last any longer than GWBush’s grandstanding of the National Guard on the border — in short assignments to do paperwork and wash vehicles.

It’s a joke, Mario! It is a facade! It isn’t going to happen! If it were, it would have happened with Reagan’s immigration bill. It didn’t. If it were going to happen, it would have happened with Clinton’s immigration bill. It didn’t.

0bummer obviously doesn’t want to give up all those Demonrat voters in the pipeline from Mexico. A permanent Demonrat majority (probably achieved already) is the motive behind “comprehensive immigration reform.” Controlling the border is an impediment to it.

Marco Rubio has a good heart, but these lying bastards are playing him like a Walmart kazoo.

Simple test: Make the background test include past voter registration. Anyone applying for green cards who has voted fraudulently committed a felony and should be tried or deported.

How the heck could Obama be against border security? Isn’t the first job of the President to defend the nation’s border and keep the citizens safe? And then he expects U.S. citizens to disarm as the drug cartels push their rackets further over the border?

Rubio favors amnesty but is ambitious for higher office and therefore, to try not to offend conservatives, is trying to triangulate by his talk on immigration enforcement.

As many FReepers have pointed out, it doesn’t matter how many more immigration laws you put on the books if they’re never enforced. It’s like the “Raise Taxes/Cut Spending Deals” where Republicans agree to raise taxes now in return for spending cuts in the “out years” that never come. And yet these Republicans can’t figure this out?

They can’t secure the border. Doing that would upset the entire applecart! Look, when the millions of illegal become ‘legal’, they are NOT going to do the crap jobs, they’ll get welfare instead and that border has to be open for more illegal aliens who will do it.
