Given that the Catholic Church is one of a dwindling number that actually oppose homosexuality, you’re cutting your nose off to spite your face.
This is very sad but it’s better to get your son out BEFORE something bad happens — so this is actually a wonderful opportunity. Thing is, even if your council stays straight, the inter-council jamborees (or whatever they’re called now) will be thoroughly contaminated and unsafe.

But Obama is happy, as is the vast American army of destroyers of all things good, noble, and decent.
The liberal bishops did exactly the same thing BSA is now doing - with the same results that the BSA is going to get shortly.
The Vatican stepped in, and is now replacing the libs who caused all the trouble with good orthodox bishops. There are still going to be people who slip through, but there's been a big change.
The very few Professional Leaders who work for the national association and the local counsels, and the vast majority of volunteer leaders, like myself, who do the work because we believe in the mission of Boy Scouting.
Gay pressure groups have had some success at cutting off funding for the national association, putting the pay of the very few Professionals in jeopardy.
What has happened here is that those very few have sold out the majority of volunteers for fear of losing some of their pay. This won't go down quietly or in any way pretty.
People disagreeing with them on God, girls and gays.
They have people who want God drummed out because they are atheists.
They sorta solved the girl thing by instituting Explorers.
They are now trying to placate one lesbian scout leader.
It seems as though by doing so they will be adding another G.
Good Christians.
Do they really want to go down that path?
They could go with the British designation: Scouting for Boys.
That's not funny. As a Catholic and a scout leader, I can tell you that the men leading our local troop and pack are the most conservative, upstanding guys you'll find. It's our Church you're talking about. Your goofy attempt at a joke has no place here.

It will be yet another milestone in the dark victory of the left against America.
None of our traditions, none of our morals, none of our greatness as a country are safe from this evil grinding down of America.
I can't stand the popcorn that the Boy Scouts sell, but I'll go out of my way and over my budget to donate $5 or $10 to every Boy Scout I see during their fundraisers.
No more.
I have a six year old son. I had planned on enrolling him in scouting this year.
Not now. I won't subject him to that danger.
The BSA is much stronger fighting this onslought on the national level than will be individual troops that still want to instill strength, knowledge, and morality into the boys.
My boys will not be a part of the new Boy Scouts.

If the BSA do make this policy change, the American Heritage Girls should immediately drop their agreement of mutual support with the BSA and form American Heritage Boys.
Someone is going to fill the void.
When I used the Church as an example, I used its scandals and the massive amount those scandals cost it. I did not intend either to state or imply that it was encouraging such activity and did not intend to attack the Church. The frightful damage it suffered by allowing active homosexuals near youths is a compelling exmple of why not to do that.
