Obama: Unless you were a Native American, you came from someplace else
Washington Examiner ^ | 1/29/13 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 01/29/2013 8:39:07 PM PST by Nachum

This afternoon in Las Vegas, President Obama reminded most American citizens that they were descended from immigrants themselves. Obama warned that the issue was an emotional one, but that it was important for Americans to not view it as “us versus them.” “It’s really important to remember our history,” Obama continued. “Unless you were one of the first Americans, a Native American, you came from someplace else, somebody brought you,” he said

“Somebody brought you”?

Bwahaha!

I suppose somebody must have likewise carried those “Native” American ancestors across the Bering Strait.

Yeah, my Huguenot 14th great grandfather entered Nieuw Amsterdam* on a tourist visa in 1645 and immediately applied for welfare and had 12 children by eight different women, when he wasn’t using his EBT card to buy lap dances.

But a least he wasn’t a married man who came over on a student exchange program and knocked up a ditsy coed and spent his time partying and carousing until he was sent home for academic failure.

*Actually, Buschwick, and according to the Nieuw Nederlands census he owned a goat and by 1695 he was a Dutch Reform Pastor on Staten Island.

Where did the native Americans come from via the great land bridge of the ice age?

And as the newer arrivals came, they pushed the weaker ones out of their homes or killed them.

How else can you explain people in South America living up in the mountains rather than in Acapulco. Did they say, wow, that looks like a nice cold, desolate mountain to live on compared to this sunny, warm place!

I am a native American, as I was born in Saginaw, Michigan. That’s what native means. I realize they came up with the euphamism “Native American” to replace misleading terms like “Indian” and supposedly insulting ones like “redskin” in order to beat us over the head with political correctness. But my descension from lines that were European a few generations ago doesn’t make me less native than injuns.

“Senior Americans” is a better term them, i in line with Obama’s point nativity is determined by your line. There is no such thing as a native American in that sense given that according to current science humanity came out of Africa.

“my ancestors came here legally.”

Ah, but somewhere along the way white men killed an Indian in order to erect the system according to which your forebears came here legally, and that makes you no more native than a border jumper. At least that’s Obama’s implication. While you ask forgiveness of long-dead Noble Savages, we’ll let Obama explain why he gets to surge troops in Afghanistan, sneak into Pakistan to whack Bin Laden, and leave Gadaffi helpless before a lynch mob. At least injuns weren’t aware of such things as sovereignty and property ownership.

Wait, I know. Dead White Men were racist, and Obama is only using the nation they evilly founded for greater ends. Which so happens to involve trampling on yet other people’s land. But unlike Old White Men he’s right to do it. Because, you know, he’s right.

Wait just a minute. What about this theory. Native Americans are descended from a lost tribe of Israel that came across the ocean by boat about 600 B.C. to America, led by a Jewish prophet named "Lehi." They then got into a huge fight which pissed off God so God cursed them with dark skin. /sarc

And we wonder why the Mormon lost in 2012.

first people here didn’t originate from the steppes of central Asia but from the Scandinavian countries,...........................................The long houses of the Iroquois tribes strike a remarkable resemblance to the Viking quarters in Scandinavia. They could have been copies of hastily made ones that the Vikings built and left or made by Viking decedents without their supply of metal tools. There is so much past to still be discovered.

Like much history this factoid has been REMOVED from our history books and encyclopedias.

We had a complete set when I was a young girl. Now every one gets educated off the ‘net’. Because they sure don’t learn it in school...in some states like GA they NO longer teach cursive writing.
