Morsi: Jewish Slurs Misunderstood, Taken Out of Context

Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi defended his rancorous anti-Semitic comments, claiming that they were taken out of context.

Morsi asserted in September 2010 that peace negotiations are "a waste of time and opportunities" as Arabs and Muslims get nothing out of engagement with "the descendants of apes and pigs."

An Egyptian television shown this month aired the remarks, which were translated and distributed by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

"I was talking about the practices and behavior of believers of any religion who shed blood or who attack innocent people or civilians. That's behavior that I condemn," Morsi said, after a meeting Wednesday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

"I am a Muslim. I'm a believer and my religion obliges me to believe in all prophets, to respect all religions and to respect the right of people to their own faith," he said, claiming not to be “against the Jewish faith or the Jewish people."

"My comments were about conduct that sheds blood and kills innocent people — things neither I ... nor anyone condones," Morsi added.

Let me guess. The backlash among Egyptians was so strong that he had to weasel out of his plain statement with this cliched non-apology. It couldn't be that Obama got him on the phone and told him that the time was not ripe yet to say what he truly thought because it left The Won with no cover and American Christians and Jews of the non-self-hating variety were writing their congressmen, and then told him what words to utter.

Whatever the case was, Mr. Morsi, I see no point in continuing negotiations, either. Palestinians are shedding blood and killing innocents and glorifying it as holy Jihad. But you are not a descendant of apes and pigs. Neither are the Palestinians. You are all too human, as were the Nazis and the Grand Mufti before you. That is why you are really scary. Compared to you, an ape or a pig or a poisonous spider is positively charming. Go take your so-called apology and shove it right up your a@#$, and then go shoot some soccer rioters.

Merkel’s coalition partners required Morsi to lie in English/German for him to receive 37 MIllion Euros in debt forgiveness and something like 30 Million Euros incapital investment project funding.

The Muslim Brotherhood earned over US$100 Million for Morsi’s 5 minute press conference.

No wonder Arafat was able to string along aid money for so many decades, the Eurocrats are just begging to give aware their peons’ tax money.

Obama is also going to pitch in at least $10 million for the press conference also.
