Obamacare Glitch: Some Families to be Priced out of Health Coverage
newsmax ^ | january 30, 2013

Some families could get priced out of health insurance due to what's being called a glitch in President Barack Obama's overhaul law. IRS regulations issued Wednesday failed to fix the problem as liberal backers of the president's plan had hoped.

As a result, some families that can't afford the employer coverage that they are offered on the job will not be able to get financial assistance from the government to buy private health insurance on their own. How many people will be affected is unclear.

The Obama administration says its hands were tied by the way Congress wrote the law. Officials said the administration tried to mitigate the impact. Families that can't get coverage because of the glitch will not face a tax penalty for remaining uninsured, the IRS rules said.

"This is a very significant problem, and we have urged that it be fixed," said Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA, an advocacy group that supported the overhaul from its early days. "It is clear that the only way this can be fixed is through legislation and not the regulatory process."

And the government will tell the employee to blame his employer for price gouging.

They are finally reading it after they passed it. Funny, those with jobs are getting screwed, those without jobs will be covered.

Tony Weiner wrote the text of the law ~ sure he took bits and pieces from here, there and everywhere, but a deal like this required a genius ~ the very sort of guy whose Congressional website said he cared very much about sexual predators on the internet who would mail pictures of their body parts to young girls.........

There's a lot more stuff in ObamaKKKare than anybody wants to talk about ...... ever .......

I for one am not surprised that the legislation is not going to work in a way that it was expected.

It was rushed through in a way that no once could read or make suggestions to the legislation. This ObamaCare is so convoluted that it will be amazing if it doesn’t create a health care crisis.

Remember that Nancy P said Congress had to pass it to know what it would do. The people who passed it didn’t understand it and didn’t want anyone else to understand it as that might have caused the legislation to fail. Is it any wonder that it has “glitches?”

It is no glitch, it is just a revalation of the pack of lies this unconstitutional POS is based on.

More and more obamorons will soon find out that we all are being condemned to less health care, more taxes for health care and death panels while our “representatives” exempted themselves and their buddies from the death-dealing blows of “The bill that blows”.

“Congress said affordable coverage can’t cost more than 9.5 percent of family income. People with coverage the law considers affordable cannot get subsidies to go into the new insurance markets. The purpose of that restriction was to prevent a stampede away from employer coverage.

So if a self employed person makes 20,000 a year then health insurance can’t cost more than 1,900 a year??? So where is the extra money suppose to come from with States that don’t participate in the exchanges. My tax dollars??

I don’t understand this whole mess

Oh and if you make more than $43,321 and above for an individual and you are self employed are you out of luck for getting affordable health care because you can be charged more than 9.5% of your income.

Not a glitch. Part of deliberate design to create a demand for the Public Option (and ultimately Single Payer)

The Obama administration says its hands were tied by the way Congress wrote the law. WHAT?! Congress didn’t write the bill, they didn’t even read the damn thing! Liberal incompetence strikes again.

It was written by a bunch of NGOs that are tied to George Soros....

So is Obama blaming Sorors....

It'll be a long stretch, but I'm sure the "media" will figure out a way to blame this on Repubs, even though they had nothing to do with writing this law. It's Zero's own people and party that did!

My radical lefty brother already has figured it out. You see, he says Obama really wanted single payer and because of the republicans he couldn't get that so he had to settle for this kludge. So everything bad in Obamacare is the fault of the GOP. I asked him how the GOP stopped Obama from getting what he wanted since not a single republican voted for it and it still passed with just democrats and he tilted his head the way a dog will when it's confused and just said "the republicans won, he didn't get single payer."

1. Congress must suffer UNDER any laws they pass.
2. Competition between hospitals and Walmart and independents.
3. Remove the lawyers with tort reform.
4. Remove ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE.
5. Competition between insurance companies including
between states.
6. Did I mention competition.

That’s a nice wishlist of conservative ideas and goals. I support it.

How do you propose to accomplish it?

All of those items would require legislation.

I suggested the GOP could use the Obamacare “glitch” as leverage to force Democrats to agree to such ideas.

You scoffed at that. So who will accomplish your goals?

Yes it is and it hasn’t been clearly explained to the people how it’s going to work (or what the current problems are).
