Two weeks before Muhammad Ali beat Sonny Liston for the heavyweight championship, the boxers trainer met secretly with FBI agents and identified members of the Nation of Islam who were associates of Ali, according to bureau records.
In a "confidential" February 1964 memo to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, a supervisor in the bureaus Miami office reported on a meeting with trainer-manager Angelo Dundee and Dundees brother Chris, who was promoting the fight between Liston and Ali (who was then still known as Cassius Clay).

"What's my name?"
Great fighter but the nation of islam used him like a rented mule to push their garbage and he either agreed with or fell for it - plus he was an obnoxious jackass most of the time.
At least he didn't lose his fortune and die of a drug overdose or gang violence.
Ali got away with saying awful, bigoted, racist, hateful things i.e. black women who married white men should be killed, and the media turned a blind eye. Apparently Ali rejected a lot of his hateful sayings years later, but it’s not easy to forget a lot of the nasty things he said about racial relations. Plus he lied about throwing his gold medal into the Ohio River...and a lot of other things.
The first and worst of the Trash Talkers
Now it’s routine and takes away alot of the enjoyment (and professionalism) of sports.
You need to examine the prior chapter in his life.
Ali was 26 years old when Selective Service cherry picked him to be drafted.
At that time no 26 year olds were actually being inducted.
He just happened to be in that “legal window”, of 18 to 26.
This was direct targeting by the Feds, and no random act.
I don’t care if he was an arrogant jerk.
He deserved to be left alone and allowed to continue his boxing career.
Ali knew if you have a % of pps that love you and a % of pps that hate you, that makes 100% of the Boxing fans stay interested! I think Cosell even stated that the interviews were made to agitate fans at one point in time!
LOL, due to the current news, the headline made me think it was talking about Barbara Boxer.
