...........
We know Schauer, having watched him as a state senator and congressman representing Jackson County for a total of eight years. So, at the risk of speculating too much Schauer has only put out signals he will run here are sone thoughts on his potential candidacy.
He is a tough campaigner. Schauer singlehandedly rewrote Jackson County's electoral map in 2002 when he comfortably defeated Jackson County politician Mickey Mortimer for the Senate. Schauer did so even though he lived in a different county and was running in a district that narrowly leaned Republican. By the time he ran in 2006, he was a safe incumbent and helped other Democrats into office.
Schauer somehow lost centrist voters as a congressman. He voted for Obamacare, cap-and-trade legislation and the stimulus, and his rhetoric on those and other issues tacked hard to the left.
It's no surprise Schauer lost to Tim Walberg in 2010, a year that was big for Republicans, but it is surprising that someone who worked so hard on economic development and once earned support from moderate Republicans for his results-above-rhetoric approach squandered that support once he went to Washington.
Schauer is little known on the state scene, but that may be an asset. As we saw in 2002, he knows how to introduce himself to new voters and has the work ethic to put in the effort necessary to do so.

I hate this little weasel.
*$hits and giggles ping*
BTW the fake tea party fraud of 2010 is growing. One of those convicted has named the Michigan democrat party chairman Mark Brewer as being behind it.
Its the Detroit news.

No more rino/faker ping!
Schauer got eaten alive in 2010. Democrats and unions spent some $8 million losing that seat and it cost Walberg half that much to retake it.
It was a record breaker of an election but Mark Schauer already held the record for paying the highest fine for campaign finance violations.
I understand that, the man is criminal in nature, no matter the party attachment.
The story portrays him as some kind of moderate but he was nothing but another one of Pelosi’s flying monkeys.
Marky Mark wants to give one to the entire state.
I agree.
The protest against Obamacare outside his office was my first in the street political activism.

The only reason Schauer even won the seat was because of the NRCC tossing Walberg overboard after he bucked the establishment and voted against the big bailout of 08. They stripped Walberg of funding in the final weeks of the campaign, called him a lost cause and Schauer won by a whopping 2%.
The tea party returned the lost cause to Washington in 2010.
My all-time favorite guv race in Mich was when Engler beat Blanchard; my second favorite was when people of both parties voted in the Demwit primary in Engler’s first reelection bid and put Kevorkian’s lawyer on the ballot. Naturally he had his ass handed to him, but my buddies who had their heads up the union butthole had to go from dismissing him during the primary while pushing for the whatever drone they’d wanted, to having to act like they would work just as hard for the ambulance chaser.
