Obamacare Punishes Smokers: Why not the Promiscuous? (Commiecare™ to cover HIV/AIDS?)
National Review ^ | 1/26/13 | Wesley J. Smith

Obamacare outlawed underwriting by health insurance companies. In other words, if we are diagnosed with cancer, run 10Ks, have diabetes or a family history of heart attacks, we all pay the same price.

Fine. But there is one big exception. Smokers, who can be charged a huge insurance surcharge for their unhealthy habit.

**SNIP**

This financial stick is entirely political. Notice we never hear experts wanting to “punish” the promiscuous for the cost burden they inflict on the health care system. Yet people who sleep around, like smokers and the obese, cost the rest of us plenty–what with promiscuity leading to sexually transmitted diseases, some cancers, HIV, unwanted pregnancies, mental health issues, etc. Why isn’t what is good for the goose also good for the gander?

I said at the beginning of the “debate” that old people would be denied treatment so that abortion, aids care and sex “change” operations would be provided.

How about illegal drug users? Marijuana users have chronic coughs and I mean bad coughs.

I no longer smoke, but I wonder how a doctor would be able to be ‘certain’ that a patient is a smoker, unless the patient told him or he/she conducted a specific blood test for that determination.... ???

One of the reasons I am for a tenth amendment approach to pot legalization is that it would be a poison pill to obamacare.States which do not legalize it would not wish to pay for the medical expenses of those that do.

I wouldn’t think a doctor could conduct a blood test that you haven’t agreed to. And there are other sources of nicotine besides smoking.

Best buy your smokes with cash though...

The greatest “SOCIAL BURDEN” in the world as a group, are homo men who live an EXTREMELY high risk lifestyle.

They stubbornly resist all efforts to curtail their high risk behavior, and then when they contract AIDS and other diseases, they run to the taxpayers and cry the blues.

The price tag for the queer lifestyle dwarfs any other group or activity.

So when are the moon bats going to hammer them?

Smokers should get their health care for free. With all the taxes they pay.

Considering the carcinogen content is much higher than tobacco you would expect it to be even higher... but some how that kind of logic never works in the crazy crazy world of democrats. As Sherlock Holmes would say, this is definitely a two pipe problem.
