CHICAGO (CBS) — Contract demands by Chicago police officers include much higher pay and something you might not have imagined.

Chicago police are reportedly proposing in negotiations that their pay increase by 12 percent over two years.

The union also wants officers to get extra money because they are required to live in the city.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the union is proposing a residency stipend of $3,000 per officer. ...

Also want to pay less for health insurance and reach top pay scale in 20 years rather than the current 25.

This reminds me of the geniuses in the Chelsea MA police union who put a flyer that looked like a parking ticket on windshields all over town.

It said they deserved a raise because Chelsea had such a high crime rate.

Wanting more and getting more are two different things. I would grant pay rasies, based on there being a budget surplus. The police could expidite their pay increase by investigating and prosicuting improper use of public funds.

The police in Chicago are not responsible for the crime rate there - the people are. They elect leftist scum, and leftists manage the system there like they do everywhere else.
