The U.S. Navy will delay the refueling of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) for an unknown period because of the uncertain fiscal environment due to the ongoing legislative struggle, the service told Congress in a Friday message obtained by USNI News.

Remember the article about the military paying outrageous amounts for fuel? Wonder if that’s at least partially to blame. Much of it “woe is me” because of the “looming” sequestration.

I call BS. The “N” in “CVN” stands for nuclear and a nuclear powered vessel produces its own power. But I could be wrong. Any sailors out there that can set the record straight?

Actually for this administration it is a win win. They would be happy to de-fund our entire military in order to give more money to the parasites.

I agree with you to a point. We can bring home dozens of thousands of troops and close dozens of bases. But, we need a powerful Navy.
Well if they are locked in a contract with Newport News, they will end up paying more because of the delays.

Looks like a Soviet military back to 1992. Six carriers, 48 thousand tanks, 10 thousand modern aircraft but funds are rapidly shrinking and not enough to provide troops with food or socks, or to fuel at least a dozen planes or tanks.
