With President Barack Obama sitting just feet away, Dr. Benjamin Carson stood up for conservative principles in his speech at Thursday’s National Prayer Breakfast, discussing the national debt, political correctness and even healthcare. Readers loved his speech so much that TheBlaze’s story on it went viral.
On Friday, Carson appeared on Fox News’ “Hannity” to explain why he felt compelled to speak out against the big government policies endorsed by Obama, in front of Obama.
Carson, a renown neurosurgeon, said the response to his speech has been “overwhelmingly” positive. However, he argued he didn’t make a conservative argument, but rather a “logical” and “common-sense” one.
“I don’t know where we left our brains,” he told host Sean Hannity.

I loved how he said that people who do not read and learn about history are easily influenced by the media due to their ignorance.
It was a fantastic speech. However, it was sad to watch, particularly when he talked about health care reform. Everything he said about health care revolved around reforming health care and making it more affordable and accessible. That is NOT the goal for Obama and his ilk. Therefore, we’ll never see these solutions implemented.
Same as his bit on the tax system. Dr. Carson calls it “common sense” but he leaves out (or doesn’t realize) that the system is purposely set up this way to control people. THAT is the common sense of the left. None of what Dr. Carson said will accomplish controlling people, so it’s an invalid argument.
I would agree, this is more of a logical statement.
Most regular small business men have flowed from Democratic and Republican parties over the years. What the Doc speaks at....are things that both ought to find common ground on and just grasp that regular Americans aren’t buying into the TV media stuff. They’ve actually gotten smarter over the last year or two.
For the President, I’m guessing that he will start to limit his appearances...only to places where he or a trusted Democrat Senator will speak. He was probably boiling after this speech and wanting to know who scheduled him for this.

Apparently, this man has put his life and talents where his mouth is. His life is worthwhile reading about, and he actually does something constructive about what he’s talking about.
After you watch the video, check out Dr. Carson’s website - look under “Alumni” and you’ll find Rafee al Mansour who now has a grant to research the perception of Muslims in the USA. After the 40 second video finishes, YouTube helpfully pops up with all kinds of Muslim links. The other Alumnus’ video doesn’t exist. WTF?
Note the skin color of most all the scholarship recipients. Of all the people who should be listening to Dr. Carson, it should be black kids and their [single] parent. Guess we can’t be havin’ dems be actin’ white. Sad.

I’ve seen Dr Carson on TV before but it was in a strickly medical
context. Maybe somebody else recalls the details
On The Five Beckel threw a hissy fit because Dr Carson went political
at what was thought to be a religious function which, of course, is
something only liberals are allowed to do.
