The secret war behind Benghazi (lot's of good info)

Obama gave his chief counterterrorism advisor, John Brennan, who is now the nominee to be the next leader of the CIA, a blank check. Brennan could do just about whatever he needed to do in North Africa and the Mideast, contend Murphy and Webb. Brennan chose to conduct a dangerous classified war without looping in Stevens, who paid with his life for his ignorance, according to the book.

The Joint Special Operations Command, which Brennan controls, is a collection of special forces outside of the regular military command originally formed as a hostage-rescue team. But in the middle of last summer, say Murphy and Webb, troops operating clandestinely under JSOC began infiltrating Libya.

“With the first phase of the Global War on Terror (GWOT) all but over,” say Murphy and Webb, “JSOC was starting in on ‘GWOT Season 2,’ as it were, where North Africa was seen as the most dangerous hub of terrorist activity.”

Murphy and Webb go on to make a shocking charge: “The nature of these operations remains highly classified. They were never intended to be known to anyone outside a very small circle in the Special Operations community and within Obama’s National Security Council. Ambassador Stevens, the CIA chief of station in Tripoli and then-director of the CIA, Gen. [David] Petraeus, had little if any knowledge about these JSOC missions.”

Usually you state time zones to the east as ‘earlier’ since any given time comes before it does in the west.

Thanks for all the links. Yes, Hillary blamed the video, but whose idea was it? According to the book alleging this was blowback for secret ops run by Brennan/obama, State was not made aware of any of these op’s. Brennan had to know this was a retaliatory strike. I just wondered if he was the one to suggest it to obama/Hillary.

I see, I’m thinking it was later in the day over there, but basically your saying the sun has come and gone earlier. Thanks for helping me think that through.

Frightening, isn’t it? Hopefully some Senators pay attention to these allegations and start digging.

And Brennan is a convert (muslim)...the converts are the most devout...trying to prove their loyalty, I guess.

I think events are moving to fast for those who are in-the-box thinkers. I think all in Congress are in-the-box (or at least in the Beltway...which is the same thing).

If this Benghazi stuff and Brennan stuff is true (and we have no reason to doubt it--given what we know about Brennan and Benghazi)...this is shiite is way out of bounds for those in Congress.

They are scratching their heads wondering what the heck is going on.

Obama and Brennan are reshaping the ME and North Africa to their liking...and those in Congress are saying "what???"

All excellent questions. Congress won’t go near anyone with personal knowledge that doesn’t have a large career to lose, or especially Canadian, British, Australian embassy who offered help. The truth might be revealed.

Yes, Hillary blamed the video, but whose idea was it?

She did more than just blame the video. The Cairo embassy, which was under her authority as Sec State, was the first to ever say anything about it. Hillary herself used the Cairo embassy twitter account to apologize for the video the last time that day about the time the Benghazi consulate was under attack. Since she was the first to apologize I figure it was her idea.

I’m in the Mountain time zone so it’s always two hours later on the east coast. But the day starts two hours earlier on the east coast than it does here. Keeping time zones straight is a PITA. lol

I fear you are right. I was hoping some of their staff would be quick studies on these latest revelations, but based on past performance, I doubt it.

I'm not sure what brennan/obama are creating in the ME/ North Africa other than a total mess....chaos.

I'm not sure what brennan/obama are creating in the ME/ North Africa other than a total mess....chaos.

Chaos...or perhaps they are adhering to a very specific plan. Perhaps this is Obama's way of seeding the ME for something a bit more creative than the New World Order. Perhaps he is setting the stage for the New World Caliphate.

Of course, I am not yet convince this is the plan...but I am becoming more convinced as time passes that someone (maybe Obama is only a bit player...a front man) is setting the stage.

If so...I am impressed.

What is frightening is that no one--NO ONE--on our side is offering any obvious resistance.

We must start to get our resistance organized...but, so far, there is no one stepping into the leadership role. Just our scattered voices.

Indeed, the very leader of the CIA may, if the Senate approves, be a muslim convert.

We are not doomed by any means...but we must get organized.

It is becoming clear that leadership will not emerge from the top. If so, who will our new David be.

We are waiting...nearly desperate.

Great stuff Pieter,I know you are right. But, if you get a chance to throw some links up would further illustrate how bad it is.

If you want to go one step beyond that, from what I have read the US had a special force of men in Turkey there only to watch for chem weapons usage. We are paranoid that Syria will start accessing chem weapons.

They don't want chem weapons used on Israel. Not that they care about Israel because they don't.

They just know that Israel fights back. They don't want to see Syria get wiped off the face of the earth since russia would notice and they are good friends with pootie.

IMHO,its not likely since they have had chem weapons forever and there is little record of them(Syria) using them so why now when everyone is watching.

Other rumors are that hillary/obabma orchestrated a plan to have the MB terrorists fake a chem attack and blame it on Assad forces so they could go whole hog on Assad.they want him out and the MB in.

Trouble is Russia is watching as well they keep wanting that warm water port Syria has, they are tight with Assad.

Why does so much of what we read almost daily on Benghazi wreak of CIA disinformation to me?

I think this was brought up in initial congressional hearings. Its a great question! I’m sure the regime is hoping it will go away.

The closest I’ve seen is Rand Paul. And believe it or not, Lindsay Graham has been impressive on bengazi.

For those of you who have exclaimed "he's to dumb to be the AC"...you might want to reconsider!

I see your point and logically you are 100% correct. But, if you analyze the guy, what he does, his history as a slug,I just can't put it together that he's anything other than a paid Manchurian Candidate.someone who was laboriously taught how to do everything he is doing and little else. The guy is almost unionesque.

Jarrett runs the presidency, he has tzar's to run almost every other op,axel runs the politics, everyone does something but him.

He's a fund raiser, campaigner and teleprompter reader,IMHO. I don't see his capabilities as any more than that.

Check his press conferences or interviews. All staged, he BS ses his way through each one, no depth to the guy at all. I don't think he has it. Would love to see his grades.

Personally, I don’t think Brennan/obama have a clue what they are doing. THey have taken away any hint of stability in the ME with the Arab “spring”, leaving a power vacuum that the Muslim Brotherhood was too happy to take advantage of. Meanwhile, the uprising in Iran against Achmeblahblah/mullahs was ignored. Israel is marginalized at every step. On top of all of that, they are riling up the al queida types with all the drone assassinations that may or may not have any rhyme or reason in the WOT.

As far as leaderhip on “our side”? I don’t see any coming to the rescue anytime soon. Conservatives in Congress could offer some if they would only start ignoring their leadership and organize seperately from the establishment.
Everyone is either too afraid to speak up or doesn’t want to rock the boat that keeps them in power. Granted the media is a powerful player that keeps people in their places, but there is a contingent of Americans who would welcome the pushback.

Right now, we seem to be on our own.

“This is what really happened in Benghazi, and this is why the Obama administration is more than happy to have the media fixated on red herrings at the consulate or wound up in an intellectual Gordian knot about some YouTube video.”

I think the video was a plant by the Obama Team. If we still had a press - rather than flacks rewriting White House press releases they could check into YOUTube and find out about the 'viewers'. I caught an early link from Drudge and watched the 'number of viewers' move up faster than possible. Looked manipulated...
