Just days after announcing its latest digital-first anthology Adventures of Superman, DC Comics faces a growing wave of criticism for hiring Ender’s Game author, and vocal gay-rights opponent, Orson Scott Card to write the first chapter.

An online petition calling on the publisher to drop the “virulently anti-gay writer” has already drawn more than 4,800 signers....

Although Card is best known for his award-winning 1985 novel Ender’s Game, he has become notorious for outspoken views on homosexuality and his advocacy against gay rights....

Adventures of Superman debuts online April 29 and in print May 29.

I wasn’t going to buy this book, but now I think I will give it a try. Funny how "diversity" means not actually tolerating non-leftist viewpoints.

Orson Scott Card is maybe the best science fiction writer around today.

When a leftist group feels themselves weak, they demand tolerance. When they feel are strong, they demand supremacy.

“Ender’s Game” was one of the few novels I ever read straight through in one sitting. It was highly addictive. But then I tried to read one of the sequels and couldn’t get past the first few pages. Go figure.

Whatever I think of the author I’ve always found intolerance tolerable. If someone wants ti make a political issue out of who’s writing a silly comicbook, let them. Neither we nor DC has to care, unless it hurts sales. Then DC should care, but I still won’t.

And then there's this.

DC Comics Prepping Occupy Wall Street Titles

Despite the fact that the Occupy Wall Street movement is essentially dead, DC Comics--publisher of Superman and Batman--is launching two new titles that will make heroes of the "99%" and might present the rich as an evil even worse than your average super villain.

One of the new books, to be titled The Movement, is to be about "power--who owns it, who uses it, who suffers from its abuse."

Author Gail Simone says her new comic is based on today's reality "where a single viral video can cost a previously unassailable corporation billions, or can upset the power balance of entire governments."

Simone went on to say, "the sources of that information are so dispersed and nameless, it's nearly impossible to shut it all down."

"The previous generations of superheroes were not created to address this, it's a legitimately new frontier," Simone said, "both for the real world and for storytellers. It's an adventure story, but it really isn't about mad scientists and jewel heists, it's more about the injustices that can affect real people's lives, just tarted up in costumes and superpowers."

Earth to DC comics....gays comprise (maybe) as much as 5% of the population.

If you wish to cater to them, go ahead....

However, if you wish to make money.....

(Earth to libs...nowhere in the above is it insinuated that gays should dissed....just IGNORED!!!)

Yeah, because it isn't like DC Comics is part of a giant evil corporation or anything (snort)...

However, if you wish to make money.....

Few children buy comic books.

Very few women buy comic books.

Wives of married men do not cotton to them buying comic books.

Homosexual men have the disposable income, and the residual immaturity to make modern, expensive comic books, especially "reaffirming" comic books attractive.

This reminds me of Norm "Weekend Update" MacDonald's sarcastic explanation of why Marvel decided, in the mid-80s, to discard Superman's traditional old costume in favor of a new, blue bodysuit: The old one was "Not Gay Enough."

The gay Mafia strikes again! The story of Superman has nothing to do with Homosexuality—These fellows will not rest until Superman “comes out of the Closet” and marries Jimmy Olsen.
