One of the deputies involved in a gun battle Tuesday afternoon with fugitive former police officer Christopher Dorner has died of his wounds, law enforcement sources told The Times.
The San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to the sources.
Another deputy was also wounded in the shootout near a cabin where Dorner was believed to be holed up in the snow-covered mountains near Big Bear. His condition was not immediately known.
The afternoon gun battle in which hundreds of rounds were exchanged was part of a quickly changing situation that began after Dorner allegedly broke into a home, tied up a couple and held them hostage before fleeing with their white pickup truck, authorities said.
Then Dorner was allegedly spotted by state Fish and Wildlife officers in the pickup truck, sources said. A vehicle-to-vehicle shootout ensued. The officers' vehicle was peppered with multiple rounds, according to authorities...

It looks like he is either fried in the cabin or escaped. The cabin is engulfed in flames.

Wait til they start trying to take guns from normal people.
They’re saying he got away ....
Well, they also heard a single gunshot just before the fire started. That was just after several rounds of tear gas were fired into the cabin. Hopefully the cowardly leftist thug shot himself.
Fox News just broke away from the Anna Nicole Smith death story for this news.....
got away? That would be crazy. I am not sure they would admit it if he got away...
How does one overweight individual elude the LAPD (10,023 officers), the San Bernadino Sheriff’s office (3,200 officers) plus all the other Los Angeles area police units? Something stinks here.
This sordid event is not going to help the gungrabbers’ argument when they say “this only PROVES that citizens must be disarmed! Look what one rogue ex-cop did!”
Obama is watching the situation closely unlike Bengazi. He is worried it might interfere with his Marist sou message. Probably had a drone waiting to take care of things before 9pm
Sarcasm folks
Live feed above. I don’t understand why they said they are just going to let the cabin burn to the ground. What? So no body will be found and we won’t know if he’s dead or alive or whether he died here or how.
Which, by the way, appears to have been a part of Dorner’s agenda.
I doubt they’d be sure that he got away at this point. If they’re allowing fire trucks in they have his body.
I hope his hostages were freed before he burned the cabin down. I can’t believe anyone, even the left, would make this despicable person any kind of a “hero”. I suppose it doesn’t matter how many innocent people get murdered as long as they can make him representative (in their minds) as supporting the “cause”. What if he kills children? What if he kills someone in one of their favored “victim groups”? Apparently the people he’s already killed, even the minorities, don’t count.
Sometimes a killer is just a killer, no matter how he tries to give it political cover.
This should be a good training video for any idiot that thinks he will be able to defend his house with several thousand rounds of ammo and a cache of weapons when the SHTF.
yeah and they’re _looking_ for him.
Very possible he could have been wounded when he got into a gunfight the two Fish & Game cops and/or when he was shot at by the two LE officers at the cabin.
if you know his training background compared to the affirmative action badge-toters and man-hating lesbians that make up the police forces today, he’s probably got more skills and abilities than most of those cops.
OMG a fire! Guess they learned a lot from Waco. I saw it was the tear gas canisters that set the fire.
A question: With all his training and equipment, does it seem logical that he would anticipate and prepare for tear gas? Don’t get me wrong, I certainly hope they got him. I just wonder what other alternatives were available in this age of thermal imaging, etc.
Well, its certainly a good training video for any idiot thinking of taking on an army of police and all the resources at their disposal.
A. They haven't got him yet. B. The best way to defend a fixed position is from outside the fixed position.

What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army?

Pretty much...it might be quit the surprise when the entire neighborhood turns out for ‘mutual aid’.
Never fix your position. Never assault civilians. Work alone and work quietly.
I’ll bet the owner of the cabin is delighted as she watches it burn up on TV. Just as well. If the guy died and the cabin stood, then it would forever be known as the cabin of the shootout. Hope she has it insured.
I guess it never occurred to you those “idiots” aren’t planning to do it all by their lonesomes (eyeroll).
...hmmm.
THe black smoke now coming from the cabin would indicate that POL is burning.
Before it was grey wood smoke. It will be a long time before they can sift the ashes for his remains.
Maybe not, if not insured. Yet you can bet there will be a lawsuit, and the taxpayers will have to foot the bill.
“B. The best way to defend a fixed position is from outside the fixed position.

Especially when you know their habit of setting fire to said fixed positions. Don’t get me wrong, the POS needs killing, just commenting on LEO tactics
That isn’t the way we fight. Booby traps. Watch house from outside. neighbors join. We don’t have everything figured out,but just shooting into a horde of armed anything is just committing suicide. And, as Churchill said, fight anyway, even if you know you may lose, because living under tyranny is not an option.
Everyone is carefully watching how the tactics on both sides play out.

“He killed a decent local Sheriff’s deputy on the way out and wounded another...that stinks.”
Everything about this case stinks. The police killed, the police family killed, the innocent civilians attacked by police... The outcome of this is going to be ugly from every angle.
There was a basement at the cabin and he did fill some scuba tanks prior to his “evil escapades”. Could he be in the basement breathing from a tank? I would think the heat would be really bad. In all likelihood he is toast.
Impossible that ‘hundreds’ of rounds were fired...I’ve been told over and over by politicians and the press that we only need a few bullets to end an altercation.
Waco 2. This sure look staged on State of the Caliphate speech day..
Or maybe Ruby Ridge 2.
Well looks like he fried. He ain’t Charles Bronson.
Dorner did prepare for tear gas by purchasing scuba gear with oxygen tanks. That lone gun shot just when the fire broke out tells me that nothing will protect one from suicide.
“So no body will be found and we wont know if hes dead or alive or whether he died here or how”
bin Laden comes to mind.
Considering the American response over the last few months, I have the feeling that in the circumstances you describe it will not be the citizens who have to hole up and try to survive. I bet they would go on offense and stay on offense until the threat of tyranny is over and its willing agents and complicit parties are room temperature, just root them out and destroy them once and for all. Hopefully it never goes there, but that’s what I think awaits any would-be Mussolini and his minions.
What kind of fire burns huge flames for hours on end. An oil fire. Nothing else. A wooden cabin that catches on fire, without oil being around, is going to go up fast and the fire will be over in no time. A body easily identifiable. An oil fire will burn all day and the body would be incinerated. No DNA match will be possible. Of course the cops will say they recovered the body, but no one will ever know if he pulled a hoodini or not.
He was “abused” and if tried would be acquitted because of white racists. UCMTU
Second that, prayers to the officer’s families.
Re: defending ground zero
When the SHTF we are going proactive. We defend nothing, if it comes to this.
